'02 Getta, '06 Colorado (56k warn)

2002 VW Getta 1.8T. A Getta is when you swap a Golf or Gti front clip. Everything gets swapped from the fenders forward. His sister blew one of his front tires and he didn't get new ones yet hence the different front and rears. Thomas, you might like the look!



I traded him some labor for labor. He installed my suspension and I detailed his car.



Process

Nxt wash

Claymagic spot clay

OP/EC 50/50 via Orange LC 1100-1500

Nxt Tech Wax



Wells/tires/wells

EO A2Z with a MF and Megs wheel brush, tires with a scrub brush

Nxt Tech Protectant in wells

Megs Hot shine on tires



Interior

Vac (My little 1/2 Gallon shop vac did ok, but with no floor mats in it was quite the job.

I wiped everything down with water/woolite and a MF

Dressed with FK 108 Top Kote (Thanks to Thomas for a sample, I really like it so far. I did my engine, trim and weather stripping and it is holding up well.)



He had removed stickers from the rear windows and there was residue left, clay took if off with no problem.

Next up my buddy's '06 Victory Red Colorado



He bought it about 6 months ago. It sat on a dealer lot for a while so it was swirled pretty good.

Nxt wash

Claymagic clay

Plastic razor for rear Colorado stickers

Floss and plastic razor for side GM badges

Tried lots of combos this was the final:

Wheels

Megs Wheel Brightener, and Megs brush, they were not bad, but I just got the WB in and wanted to play

The red was noticably deeper and darker.



2180 went on a bit tough, I used a foam applicator, and found it hard to spread, compared to FMJ, IW845, Nxt, Pinnacle.



It did buff off very easy though.



Afterwards I looked up FK's directions and they said to dampen the applicator with water or detailing spray. :think2 I don't know why I didn't think of that. I bet it would have been much easier.



I will report back with durability and more pics.
 
Awesome details, man you and thomas...definetly give you guys props for doing this mobile. For me I have people bring their cars to my house (parents house, as im still in college) to be worked on. I mean I could do some things mobile but kudos for all mobile detailers to work such great detailing in sometimes adverse conditions!
 
Thanks Chris, If I go mobile I usually make sure they have a garage. I hate working in the sun, I don't know how some people do it. I did pick up some OP incase I do get stuck in the sun. The cars I have done here in NoVa have been at my apartment, where I have a garage. I did go quite mobile when I flew to Buffalo though! :shocked I will be going more mobile around here when the time comes. I try to get them to come to me though as it is much easier.
 
That's good, Im moving out next year around here when I graduate and looks like going mobile might be the only choice since where I move in may not have a nice two car garage like my parents!
 
Thanks Scott. I just cleaned them, my buddy dressed them along with the tires per my instructions. I took 3-4 pics of the fenders they looked so good. :o
