Well, since I had some time off as I am going between two commands (Navy) I was able to come home to Texas. Well, I decided to treat my dad's car (and my dad) to a 2 step polish.

This car is a Daily Driver with 106K miles on it. My dad and I together spent 12 hours, so around 24 man-hours are in this.

Used PC7424

Cleaned Wheels with Armor All Wheel Cleaner (Full bottle gone, was laying around in the garage, and worked well.)

Wash - WG Auto Bath

Clay - Megs

SIP - Orange 5.5" LCS

106FA - White 5.5" CCS

WG DGPS - Blue 5.5" LCS

12 hour cure then a coat of WG Fuzion

Rims with a bit of Chrome Polish(think it was mothers)

Followed with Meg's Cleaner Wax for protection.

Tires with Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel

Cleaned the engine compartment with Simple Green and elbow grease.

Dressed with Mothers Back to Black.

Enjoy the great before and afters.

Great work and very nice of you to do for the old man! :goodjob

Looks like lots of highway miles, no?

Yes and no. He commutes ~50 miles daily. Some of it 2 lane road, about 10 miles city.

But he keeps it clean, so that helps a lot.

Looked like it had lots of pitting and rock chips...kinda looks like the front of my car! :D

Yup, lots of pitting and rock chips. Not comfortable enough to wet sand, and it is a daily driver, so not too worried.

wow great job man! Camaro was a little hammered paint wise. Looks like you polished the inside of the wheel barrels as well! Hope your dad liked it. He probably though you bought him a new car LoL.

Thanks for the compliments. My dad for the last 2 days I was there wouldn't stop thanking me. He will probably be placing an order for some detailing stuff in the near future.

Great turnaround he should be very very happy with all of the work you put into the car. I really like the extra time you put into the wheel wells and the wheels. This can often make a huge difference! I also find the wells to clean up very well and quite easy on these cars.

Well, for the wheel wells, we actually ran out of Simple Green and the car had the wheels off, so I found some random all-purpose cleaner and a stiff bristle brush. For the shocks and springs, I just used a sponge with more all purpose cleaner. So time and elbow grease.

Engine compartment was Simple Green (before we ran out) then a brush, and sponge. Took 2 or 3 tries to get all the stuff off. Then used Mothers Back to Black on all the trim. Brought it back to life.

And educated my dad that when he washes the car to do the wheels and wheel wells first and use a tire foam on the tires and wheel wells to keep them looking good.
