01 Ford Lightning Detail and Poorboy's Products (long)

Humor me....how long did it take. I've done 2 black trucks one took about 12 hrs and I still wasn't satisfied and the other was a quicky that I spent 6-7 on. Also, the majority of the time on both of them was with 1zPP and the PC. I followed that with NXT with a PC. Thats only 2 steps compared to your 3 and I bet you still got done in half the time....i can't explain it:nixweiss

Yah Pro Polish is not a glaze at all but will leave a deep clear reflective finish - it can he hard to work with as mentioned but the key to PP is less is too much ;) - A little goes a loooong way - if you apply to much then it's a bit%h to get off. That may be why you had an issue with the Ex going on - 99% fo the time you can go right from SSR1 to EX -

GREAT JOB looks awesome - except for that big blob of sh*t on the window :lol looks like you missed it.

daumn that looks awesome! really nice job! :bounce

funny, i though SSR 1 smelled more like bubble gum. :D and i've found EX pretty easy to apply. i followed the instructions and used a dampened pad. then again, i used VM instead of PP, so maybe that could be why? :nixweiss

How the hell did you get Meg's High Endurance to apply so smoothly? Nowadays I hate that stuff and wanna just throw it away. Doesn't apply smooth even after I cleaned em pretty well and used a cloth. Maybe to much?

Detail looks good though! :xyxthumbs

Very nice! That truck's paint looks like it may start dripping!

I've been really pleased with every Poorboy's product I have used. I really need to order some SSR2.5 and check it out.

BTW, love the bumper sticker!

THANKS again all for the kind words!

fireberd350 it took me about 6 1/2 hours to detail the truck inside and out.

6']['9 indeed...I sometimes get long winded!!! :D :nixweiss

hirosh I used a damp applicator for the EX per the instructions for application. My guess too is that the PP was making the EX drag. VM does make LSP's go on like butter!!

groebuck "GREAT JOB looks awesome - except for that big blob of sh*t on the window looks like you missed it.".....I live in BUSH country son...I missed nothing. :D :usa

SilvaBimma I use a VERY small amount (one thin "bead" of product down the center of the swipe) for application and will wipe down after it sets for about 20 minutes.

Scott that SSR 2.5 is VERY aggressive in my opinion. Gets the job done without question but will need a follow up of a lighter polish afterwards. I knew you would appreciate the clients bumper sticker being from Bush country too!:xyxthumbs

1 Clean WS6, great write up. I myself just got into detailing and am planning to order products soon. My plan so far is SSr2.5 on the scratches, SSR1 on the enitre car, AIO, and the SG or EX.

I was wondering if you had any experiece with other products, and if you could comment on how they comapare to Poorboys. There are so many competing products is hard to tell which is best, if any. SSR2.5 competes with DACP, 3M Fine Cut, Menzerna IP, and others. SSR1 too has Megs, 3M, and a host of other brands making counterparts. Pro Polish seems to compete with AIO, Megs products, Menzerna products, Zaino and a bunch more. And as far as a very durable finish, EX seems to go with Klasse SG and others. I like the prices of Poorboy's products, what do you think of them compared to competing brands?

is it just me or does it seem like steve @ poorboys never picks up the phone? ive been trying to get my hands on those products for god knows how long... now im itching even more for them... one of these good days... :nixweiss

If you can't get Steve, there's a list of distributors on his web page. One of the site sponsors (Autogeek) also carries his line.

Hope this can help!
