I was going to enter this in the Xtreme contest, but it doenst seem to get a whole lot of entires anymore. Add to that the guy taking my pictures (me) is an idiot. Due to some sort of operator error, my interior pics were never stored to the disk in my camera. I guess by the time I had even gotten to the interior (after the insane washing) I was so worn out I didnt check the camera. Sigh...gone are the days of point and shoot it seems. Anyway, here's how it went down. This car belongs to a friend of mine who will be unloading it soon to another member of her family. I dont know how many of you follow the weather, but the southeast had a bit of stormage lately, and I actually started to get a little bit of rain on me as I was working on this car. So it begins....

Fist step was the wash. I didnt take any pictures prewash because it wasnt pretty. I ran the car over to the quarter driven do it yourself wand wash, to prolong the life of my sheepskin mits. Here's what I started with after pumping what seemed like a quarter million dollars worth of quarters:

The paint just seemed dull and lifeless, and the entire truck covered with scratches.

Process:

SSR3 via rotory and Edge 2000 Green light cut pad (on select areas).

SSR3 via PC and Wolfgang Polishing pad @ speed 6.

SSR2 via PC and Wolfgang polishing pad @ speed 6.

Seal with NXT (taking Scottwax's advice on dark blue).

Certain areas of the car got more than one go-over with both SSR2 and 3.

A few select spots got some Pro Polish (wheels, chrome bumpers)

The plastic cowl got Adam's In&Out

Running boards as well as mirrors got PB Trim Restorer.

Polished the center caps with Wenol Blue.

Hot shine on the tires

That's all I remember right now. :D

Please excuse any pollen on the car. Trying to keep a car clean in GA this time of year is a losing battle. Claritin is my best friend right about now. I wish I could have gotten some better reflection shots, but alas....

Thanks guys.

So, how do you like NXT on blue? To me, it almost seems made for that color. :)

You're not kidding. When I saw the pics of that blue Vette you posted, my mind was made up. :D

Congratulations! That is one seriously nice transformation. It went from almost a gray-ish blue to a deep metallic blue, I bet the owner is thinking twice about selling now?

Thanks a lot guys. I wish my interior shots had come out....

Lightning,

She got her father's A6 instead. She said she likes the car better and it should get her better mileage than the exploder is getting. She hasnt seen the car yet, so we'll see what she has to say.
