I just love getting my hands on black cars :D

Guy just bought it a couple weeks ago, typical black car, swirls, paint was very dry, had some nasty OP on it on the door (probably a bad repaint I am betting).

Wash, clay, DACP with a yellow LC pad, #80 with an LC orange pad, #16.

Great transformation! I just love dripping wet black paint!

Keep up the great work!:xyxthumbs

Cheers,

Many thanks :D I will... he now wants me to do his Lincoln and his friend that dropped him off wants his t-bird done :up

quick question with your #83 and #80 choice: Did you need such an agressive polish as the #80 after the #83???

I've been trying to settle this one with myself !? i mean after #83 the finish is usually pretty swirlfree, and, I know #80 can tackle some pretty serious webs an swirls....any thoughts??

with respect from a relatively Newb!

Great job removing those swirls! Black paint is tough because if you miss any of them you will definitely know!

How much time did you put into polishing it out?

Outstanding job. You really resurrected that black paint. Hello auto recyclers... Do you have any 2000 Mustang tailights?

I wanted to use #80 for the deeper wetter look (due to the oils), and remove and slight marring from DACP (which there was some). A white polishing pad wasn't really doing what I wanted.

Very true, many thanks! :up I didn't time myself ( I usually glance at my watch, but forgot), but about 2 hours, perhaps a tad more I think (2 1/2).

Yeah not a big fan of the tails.....

but amazing work none the less!! The paint looks spectacular!

I don't know what's worse on Fords, the brake dust or the orange peel (or the whole line of cars in general....eek [runs and hides] )

Tails dont bother me that much, although I dont know that I'd want them personally. Excellent detail! But that orange peel is nasty. IS that OEM, or has it been reprayed? The paint on my 99 GT vert had very little OP.

My cobra has orange peel on the top of the trunk, not sure where else it's got it. I always wondered why it looked so....diffuse I guess is a good word for it. Looks like something you'd do with photoshop. I never knew what it was until I found this site. I hope I can get mine to look as good as the work you did on that one!
