0% Financing?

Does anyone know when Chevrolet is going to offer 0% financing on the 2007 Cobalt. My dad won't buy it for me until they offer 0% financing.
 
With new car sales on the decline and American manufacturers at some of the lowest sales levels ever I'd presume that 0% financing might be coming around the corner. Are you completely sold on the Cobalt?

Yea I dont really have a choice. My dad had a GM credit card and he still has a couple thousand bucks worth of GM points from his card. I think the Cobalt is the best choice out of all of GM's small cars.



If I did have a choice, I would look for a used BMW or something.

I want the SS Manual. There was one in black that was here a few months ago. My dad won't let me get the SS though. He said they're too expensive even though the cheapest SS is only like $1500 more than the one I'm getting.
 
Keep in mind that due to TiVo I don't watch commercials like before, but I haven't seen as many offers for 0% financing as before, like the months following 9/11.



Also, interest rates have risen since then so that could possibly be another reason why I haven't seen as many 0% financing offers.



One thing I did remember seeing recently was that Dodge (IIRC?) was offering a Lifetime Warranty. The first thought in my head was how sad. Even the Koreans at their worst didn't have to go that far to win customers.



Anyway, I went on GM's website and here are there current offers in your state of Lousiana. Looks like 0% is only for 2006 models, while 2007 Cobalt has an APR of 4.9%

I wouldn't expect 0% financing to come around again... At least not until the next national disater like 9/11. GM isn't about to give it's cars away, and regardless of your current area the economy is on the rebound just about everywhere. If anything the % rates are going to keep going up and up and up as more and more people are spending more and more money.
 
0% financing most definitely will comeback, especially now when they (dealer's) can't even empty their lot to make room for the new ones. Once you see plants slowing down production and big news about Toyota outselling GM, sales promos and combinations of deals would definitely come out. Now they have "Employee Pricing".



Keep your eye on deals on demos and short term lease returns. You would get a better bang for the buck and you won't pay all the horrendous new car fees 'coz some poor sap already did. They still qualify for low interest financing.
 
Ford has 0% now (on SUVs at least). I'm sure GM will jump on it soon. I got 2.9% @ 66 months on my new Fusion. That's close to 0.
 
I know for a fact that VW has 0% on the new GTIs. But that's only for a 2-year contract.

I was surprised to hear any dealership was doing that, but I guess it's more common that I'd thought.



Please tell me the Cobalt isn't the car you want the vertical doors on...

Is your Dad also paying your insurance? Because it will double driving a turbo.

Maybe that is why he doesn't want you to get the SS model.
 
No turbo. The standard SS is NA with 2.4 173 HP.



SS Supercharged has a Supercharge 2.0.



Insurance might not be too bad on the SS, but BAD on the Supercharged SS.



An SRT4 Neon is one of the highest priced vehicles to insure.
 
I would think that Labor Day would be the next most likely time to see 0% offered. GM (and their competitors) use national holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, Independence Day, etc., to introduce incentives like that.



And not to insult or burst your bubble, but be uber-thankful that your dad is buying you any vehicle, especially a new one. Who cares if it is 'cool' or not, it's a brand new car. And besides, there's nothing wrong with a Cobalt, especially a new one with a factory warranty.:D
