I should be recieving my rotary on Friday or Saturday and I'm getting the Makita 9227CX3. I know it has variable speed setting and I believe that on 3 the speed is something like 1500. My question is if I wanted to polish at 1200 how would I know I"m at 1200? Do you just hold the trigger halfway...

From what I understand the 9227CX3 comes with a velcro backing plate but I would like to replace it. Can I use one from meguiars or should I go with one of the ones from LC? Could you please list what you use and if it is even possible to replace the original factory backing plate. TIA

I tried woolite for the first time this weekend diluted 6:1 in a spray bottle so about 5 ounces of woolite and the rest (up to 32 oz.) water. When I use it though it seems to be sticky on the surface and even after several wipes it remains sticky. It does get better though after about 5 wipes...
