This is my dad's '98 Vette. It was in some bad shape so, needless to say, he required my services. Here is the precedure...

Menzerna IP with Yellow Pad
Menzerna FP with White Pad
Menzerna FMJ with Microfinger Pad
Hi-Temp Grape on tires
303 Aerospace Protectant on Vinyl
Poorboy's Trim Restorer on exterior trim
Gunk Foaming Engine Degreaser
CD-2 Engine Detailer (I'll give you one guess where that went ;))
Pinnacle Leather Treatment
Woolite 10:1 on carpets

I havn't used FMJ in a while but I definately forgot how much I LOVE IT!!! :bigups The product goes on and off as easy as I have ever experienced. It also leaves the slickest finish possible, along with UPP. It has a very bright shine, but in my opinion not plastic looking at all. Its really an excellent product! Ok here are the pics....

This one is a before of the Engine...

All in all I was happy with the way everything went. Menzerna makes some great products that produce top notch results. I think FMJ is a great sealent too. Its starting to gain popularity as more and more people try it. If only they had a quick detail spray to go with the sealent :(

Wow extremely nice! What would you compare FMJ to? Any carnauba runners? Dang interior / engine are lookin fine! :bigups

I would say FMJ is most like UPP. It goes on and off just as easily and is equally slick. As far as looks go, Ive never done a direct comparison but they are similar. Its difficult to tell since I've never applied them to the same car before.

Great job. Your dad has to be pleased. Menzerna is one brand I do not have.

He better be, it took about 7 hours total!!! You should definately give menzerna a try, they make fine products. I would recommend getting the kit because on its own, FMJ is 40 bucks which is very high. The polishes produce the best possible results of anything Ive used, but they are a little bit more difficult to use than the SSR's.

good work. Tell your dad he should be ashamed of his delf letting that vet get in bad condition. Good thing he has you as a son.

Nice looking vette. Great job detailing! That's all I need to add more products to my supplies. Hmmm note to self: order Menzerna kit from Dwayne.

TheSopranos16,

Great work, and beautiful car! :bigups

I've heard nothing but good stuff about the Menzerna polishes............ especially the FP.

Do you like the way the Menzerna polishes remove imperfections, or the gloss that they produce? (or both?). I certainly don't mind using a product that is a "little" more difficult to use, provide the results are worth it.

WOW -- in the words of JJ Walker -- "That's Dy-no-mite!!"

I have a question on the wheels though, especially the brake caliper -- did you use an acid based cleaner on them, if so which one? I ask because of the way the caliper looks brown -- which I have seen happen before.

those disks and calipers look the same as mine after i wash my vehicle. 1st time you use the brakes though the rust magically dissappears! I dont think it has anything to do with what type of Wheel cleaner you use?!
