Had several washes and 2 details today and on the black ML, which was in some sad shape, I teamed up with Ron, a new member here at DC and also a newb to San Antonio. He did some PDR work on the ML and also used the Cyclo to polish out one side of the ML. Got all the dings out.....Ron does some great work!

On the rear lid and the hood I used Hi-Temps Medium Cut, green pads, Cyclo and then went over that area and the rest of the car with IP, white pads and the Cyclo. (Ron now loves the Cyclo :) )

Finished off the exterior with Hi-Temps Fine Finish.

I have one BEFORE shot of the fender....and only 2 AFTER shots as the doctor had to leave.

I'll post a few interior shots next. Here is the BEFORE, it had some nasty marring all over the paint but this picture doesn't pick it up all that well.

very nice anthony :) how does the medium cut compare to the power prep??? Also i am thinking of picking up the fine finish as well, is it similar to paint perfection 1 step????

Leather and vinly was cleaned with Woolite 6:1 until I ran out and then re-filled with Deep Down and finished the car out with that.

Leather was conditioned with Leather Master Vital Care.....which is awesome! Carpets pre-treated with 303 Pre-spot and then extracted.

A thorough vacuum was key on this car.

Here is the drivers side AFTER......the doctor has worn a spot through on the carpet where her foot rests:rolleyes:

Five-0.......The Med. Cut is a step below the Power Prep. In comparison to the PPG the Fine Finish is carnauba based while the PPG is polymer. Also the PPG has a stronger cleaner in it.

Here is the console BEFORE

The Carpet looks GREAT. Huge difference in the before & afters. Did the Woolite get alot of the dirt out ? What did you use on the carpet ? Forget that one after rereading I saw what you used on the carpets.

What is this Deep Down product , I'm not familiar with that

Thanks:cool

Deep Down is a leather/vinyl cleaner from Top of the Line. It is the best cleaner I have used to date. The Woolite works well also but the smell can be overpowering at times, not a bad smell but just real perfumey:-p

Woolite though does leave the surface soft to the touch and in a pinch can be used on carpets.

I have been detailing for over 10 years now and Im very conifident and proficent with the rotary
polisher and always get great results using one or two products when correcting the finish of a vehical.

That said I have noticed alot of people in this forum use a porter cable to polish & wax there cars.
For five years I have tryed (on my wifes black cars) more products and pads than I care to count and
have never achevied good results! There are alot of products that do a great coverup but what it boils
]down to is the PC.Its great for applying but not correcting. It may remove some spider scraches but thats it. I have only used the PC to apply wax on customers cars. Until today I never thought that a dual action polisher could correct paint I was wrong!
Anthony has a CYCLO POLISHER that really polishes. It wont do deep down scratches like a roatry can well maby if you had the time to hold it there. This polisher is almost idiot proof almost. If I were new to this business looking for the safest all around polisher that I could truly do some polishing and waxing with this would be it. Or If all I was curently using was the PC I would sell it to my competion purchase a cyclo and start doing some real detail work if your affraid of the highspeed rotary.
After working half of a black mercedes this detailer is sold. It might cost a little more but it is money well spent. Im sure all you loyal PC users will say Im wrong or give me some 5 product process but when your customers notice paint problems coming back after each wash they might realise that your not correcting your just covering up.
Anthony thanks for leting me work on that mercedes with you.
How come you didnt take a picture of the side I polished?

Ron

Great job guys!! My Medium cut arrived this week as well, and I was able to do 2 rotary jobs with the new Makita. Well worth the money right there!

Ron, how do you like the PDR work? Is it pretty simple once you get going on it?

Its like golf your taught the mechanics then you devlope a style thats comfortable for you.

Pratice pratice pratice!

Yes it is. Its way beter than the PC. If you purchase one you can retire your PC and use the cyclo for every thing if you dont have a rotary. Ive got alot of hours with a PC and a rotary and could see a difference after 5 minutes.
