** Wax Sample Review Thread **

Here is my review of the purple wax P3:

When I first received the purple wax I thought the smell was a little bit overwhelming. I think part of that is because I took a HUGE sniff out of pure excitement lol. But that didn't stop me from making just about everyone in my office at least give it a try :) . I still don't know if I can really describe the smell. It is very "minty", I guess? I want to say spearmint maybe? But anyhow, once I started to actually use the wax and the smell filled up my garage I really enjoyed it and thought it was a awesome choice! :bigups

The wax is extremely oily and spread very easily with my Auto Finesse applicator (applicator fit perfect in the test pot ). I felt like a little of the wax went a very long way. Removal was a little bit tougher for me. I tried to apply it to one panel, let it cure for a minute or two and than remove it. Sometimes I would get a little residue left behind and it really helped to follow up with a second towel. The initial towel sometimes would put more residue back on the panel. I think that this could be user error by me seeing no one else really had this problem. I was either putting it on too thick or letting it cure for too long. A wipe on, wipe off method could of helped as well.

On to some photos!!!

Final observations:

I thought this wax was EXTREMELY glossy and slick! Despite having the little hiccup with the residue, which I think I can help once I get use to using it, I would buy this wax in an absolute heart beat. I will definitely try to use up this test pot for car shows. I think you might have a future winner ODK!

Now, some more photos!

Well. I messed up. Dan was kind enough to send me this wax all the way from the UK. However, due to this and that - I haven't been able to review it in a timely manner.

So, the first person that responds to this thread will get my untouched sample of Dans red wax. Shipping will be paid by me.

Just respond and agree to do a review in a timely manner and post pics here. Wax will go in the mail tomorrow.

Continental US shipping only.

I'll do it Swanicyouth :) . I don't think Dan would mind if you just did it this weekend. We are still missing some other peoples reviews.

Of course bud, I really enjoyed doing it :) . I hope the interest continues to grow for your waxes on Facebook. I think the red Sterling is already hitting it off!

This is a follow up posting on Pot #4 Purple......after 5 weeks, the wax is still going strong, attached are several pictures, wax still beads up ( paint protection )just as well as day one, glossy and metallic flakes still pop.....all in all....this is a good wax...Would I buy this WAX? Yes. Would I recommend this WAX? Yes !!

I got the purple wax and got to test it pretty soon after receiving it, but have been slow in the reviews. My real job takes over some times. I found the wax to be very good. I used it on several vehicles now. I will have to attach these in several post. My first vehicle was a personal car a Ford F-150 King Ranch. The last wax it had was the Chocowork Orange. The paint was still in really good shape and I applied the wax after just washing the vehicle. The wax was very easy to apply and came off as easy as it went on. I applied it to a small section at a time and allowed it to cure for about 5 minutes and removed it. The wax left a really shiny finish. Beading was amazing with really small beads. The smell of the wax is a little to be desired, but after using the Chocwork Orange, most other wax leaves a little to be desired also. The wax has been on the vehicle for over a month now and the beading is still great with very little change since it was applied. This vehicle stays outside and the last several weeks we’ve had rain and snow. The wax is holding up very well so far.

My next vehicle was a 2007 Ford Expedition police vehicle. The vehicle’s paint was in really good shape also. Again I washed the vehicle with Chemical Guys Honeydew Soap. I polished the paint with Chemical Guys Blacklight and then applied two coats of the Purple Wax. Again the wax went on really easy and came off just as well. The shine on the white paint was great. The finish was very smooth to the touch. This is a garage kept vehcile. The durability of the wax has been really good so far. The paint still beads water really well and the slickness is great. I have received numerous comments on the shine and slickness.

My next vehicle was a Chevrolet Tahoe, which belonged to one of my friends whom got killed in the line of duty along with his K-9 on a manhunt for a double murder suspect. The vehicle was detailed for the funeral. I washed the vehicle in Chemical Guys soap. The vehicles paint was cleaned with Nanoskin. I then used M-105 and M-205 followed by Chemical Guys P-40 polish. After the polish I applied the purple wax. Again the finish was amazing. The wax left a really nice smooth finish.

My next vehicle was a 2013 Jeep. The vehicle was washed with Chemical Guys soap and then the paint was cleaned with Nanoskin. There were several places where Pine resin was on the paint and it was removed with Tarnimator and a plastic razor blade. The paint was polished with Chemical Guys Blacklight and then I applied two coats of the purple wax. The wax made the red paint really pop. Beading was great and it was actually a little hard to get the water to stick to the paint to bead. Again the wax was very easy to apply and remove.

My next vehicle was a 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby convertible. The vehicle was on consignment at Mike Brown Ford Subaru and was detailed to be sold. The vehicle had never been on the road and was garage kept. The vehicle was washed with Pinnacle shampoo and the paint polished with Chemical Guys Blacklight. The purple wax was applied in two coats. The wax went on very easy and came off just as easy. The finished product was great. The vehicle really stands out in the showroom.

My last vehicle that I’ve used the purple wax on is a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Rick Hendrick 25th Anniversary, Number 6 of 25. The vehicle is autographed by Hendrick and Calloway on the manifold cover. Since there were only 25 produced this was an amazing vehicle. Another one of the Hendrick Anniversary addition’s sold for over $250,000 in Scottsdale Arizona. The vehicle was in excellent condition and had 4,000 miles on it. The vehicle was washed with Pinnacle Shampoo and then the paints was polished with Chemical Guys Blacklight. I applied two coats of the purple wax to the paint. Again the wax was easy to apply and came off well. The silver paint really had a nice shine and a really smooth finish. The owner loved the final result and will be getting me several more of his show cars for future details. This was one of my favorite details that I’ve ever done and my first detail of a vehicle worth over $200,000. Obi-Dan you’ll be proud of the results of your wax.
