PC power dial question

Hey guys, I have fine power adjustment from 1-5, but my dial jumps from 5 all the way to 6 with nothing between like there is from 1-5. Is this normal?

I polished a windshield today that had bad water stains. Probably from the owner using the windshield washer constantly for years, I needed more power than 5, but to my surprise the dial jumped all the way to 6, no fine clicks in between. So I used 6 :D

I used a green pad with CG v36, then white pad v38. Windshield came out perfect. On my next windshield I will go more aggressive, maybe MF pad and M105. The v36 worked, but I had to use more pressure and make more passes than I wanted to.

Yes, this is normal, that there is no 5.5 setting on the PC7424XP.

I had this exact same question you had, when I got my new PC-XP last sept-oct 2012.

next time try using a cerium oxide based glass polish (CarPro Ceriglass Kit) and a glass polishing pad.(Lake Country 5 Inch Glass Cutting Pads 3 Pack). it'll save you a lot of time with less steps and get better results on glass.:bigups
