My buddy at work saw mine and turns out he has opticoat on his car but never corrected his paint..dummy. He asked me if I could correct it but I don't know what takes off opti?? would an IPA work?

Even a polish will take it off.

You can however polish OC with a finishing polish with out removing it.

thanks for the info! looks like the biz is taking off evan!! Did not realize you were in PGH - I go there a lot for work - usually USX building downtown.

Yea slowly but surely not tin too much of a hurry. Slow and steady wins the race!

Good building to work out of when your in town!

IF the swirl marks are UNDER the coat, then you will need to polish until the swirl marks are gone, which in turn means the coating (which was OVER the marks) was removed. Simply correct the paint as normal but expect some initial resistance as the Opti-Coat will not give up without a fight.

that is what I was wondering - how much compounding/polishing will it take to correct? I was planning on using megs ultimate compound or PB ssr 2.5

Use UC, you'll be able to tell when you go through the OC. And I'd clean my pad way more often then normal, Like every polishing cycle because OC will clog it causing the abrasives in UC to not be very effective. Also misting the panel with waters helps with clogs. I've had to polish OC off of cars a few times(we wont discuss why, its not like in my perfect bubble we possibly could of made a mistake and had to call mulligan ;)) Hope this helps!
