Review & How-To: Meguiars D115 Rinsefree Express Wash and Wax

Re: Review & How-To: Meguiar's D115 Rinsefree Express Wash and Wax

I wanted to use clean water as opposed to tap water.

Very nice review. One of Meguiar's strong points for me is their products are usually cheaper with just as good of results if not better than their competitors. With Ultima Waterless Wash Plus and Pinnacle Liquid Crystal Waterless Wash Concentrate with Carnuba they are still going to have to do a little more work. Both of those are available in gallon size which will be a much better value.

Re: Review & How-To: Meguiar's D115 Rinsefree Express Wash and Wax

I just want to follow up on this review. I've used this product more now (about 3 times after this review) and I get amazed even more. Not only does it clean very well, safe and effectively but it produces a brilliant shine! This product leaves the surface with an amazing gloss and depth. And I'm only using it at 10:1-12:1! What more if I use the suggested 4:1! In addition, it makes the surface extremely slick!

I know for sure that when I run out of both my D115 and UWW+, I will for sure buy another gallon of this product. IMHO, it is that good.

I'm still with you on this stuff. Just wrote up a comparison of the six waterless wash products I had been testing and D115 stole the show for me. It's the one I'll be sticking with. Now what to do with all the others I have is the question? :lol2:

Shhh but trade for D115!!! LOL!

Re: Review & How-To: Meguiar's D115 Rinsefree Express Wash and Wax

I'm ready to offer someone a trade in program if they buy a gallon of D115 and try enough to make a 16oz bottle at 1:4 (roughly 3.5oz) and don't like it I'll trade full bottles of DP concentrate 32oz, Pinnacle concentrate 16oz, UWW+ concentrate 12oz (all that's left in mine, not quite full like the others), and a 16oz RTU bottle of Ecosmart RU for that gallon minus 3.5oz of D115 and they can decide for themselves what they like best.

Re: Review & How-To: Meguiar's D115 Rinsefree Express Wash and Wax

Excellent review! How does it do cleaning off tree sap mist? I've read that Megs UWWA is similar to D115 used at full strength. The UWWA has great shine and slickness but it's ability to remove tree sap mist was disappointing. M135 (only a QD) and UWW+ do much better at removing the tree sap mist. I was just wondering if the D115 had better cleaning ability than UWWA.

Excellent review! One day when on sale I'll try D115.

This is the reason I stick to UWW+, I buy the gallon while on sale, comes out to $.0106 per oz. UWW+ can also use be used as rinseless and clay lube, this gives it more value.

Re: Review & How-To: Meguiar's D115 Rinsefree Express Wash and Wax

I bought some of this and I am VERY impressed with it! The gloss and slickness are incredible.

I have most of the other waterless washes, including Pinnacle, Blackfire, and Ultimate Waterless Wash Plus. They are all very good but I like the D115 the best.

Not sure how I missed this write-up. You did a fantastic job breaking it down and reviewing at all the various ratios.

I`m definitely picking up some D115 when I run out of my current RW :)

One thing I learned recently about D115 is that it does much better at removing tree sap when it is diluted 20:1.

Old review, but perfect timing for me for it to come back as I just received my gallon of D115 in the mail yesterday.

Hoping to give Meg`s UWAW and a few others. If it`s like the rest of Meg`s products, I`m sure I will be ordering a gallon soon.

This is a great review Marc! I don`t know how I missed it the first time. I will definitely will be giving the Meg`s concentrate a try!

I`ve been using D115 as a Rinseless Wash for a while now. It`s my favorite of those I`ve used (D115, ONR V2&3, ONR-WW and Blackfire Rinseless). However, I do not use the recommended 1:4 rinseless dilution ratio that reportedly leaves a layer of protection behind. That`s just too strong/expensive for weekly rinseless washing. I normally use 2 oz. of D115 in 2 1/2 gallons of water (unfiltered tap water). I also pre-soak with a similar strength solution in a pesticide sprayer. It works great, slicker in use than the others.

For touchups, I use a 1:10 waterless ratio mixed in a spray bottle. I don`t waterless wash, but I use it as a high strength QD (for glass, wheels, bugs, bird bombs, etc). This 1:10 solution cleans well, clears-out/flashes-off well (no streaking) and leaves a spray-wax like finish behind. I don`t get the same performance out of 1:10 dilution ONR or Blackfire (of course, they`re not waterless products, so that`s to be expected).

Review & How-To: Meguiars D115 Rinsefree Express Wash and Wax

D115 is actually a fantastic rinseless wash product at 2oz to 2.5 gallons. I use D115 @1:8 as pre-soak/waterless wash/detail spray ...and the above dilution for rinseless. I`ve tried all popular waterless and rinseless products and D115 always performs the best on my car both in the sun or during the winter. It`s a winner.
