Which Wax To Get & How To Make Paint Pop?

I just bought a brand new car in Mocha Bronze. I used Meguiar's clay bar, Ultimate Polish, and then Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0. The car looks great however I have read on here that NXT Wax 2.0 does not last very that long, just a matter of weeks.

I live in MI and do not have a garage so I am looking for a wax that will offer protection for 2 or 3 months.

1) I am thinking of getting Meguair's new Black Wax, will this wax offer better protection than NXT 2.0?

2) I am confused after reading on this forum that some people top a wax? In other words, they put a coat of another product underneath or over the wax to enhance the shine?

3) If I was to make the paint really pop, what product do you recommend I put over or underneath the Black Wax? For example, Meguiar's Mirror Glaze, is that product put over the wax?

4) This question is about Quick Detailers, it says on the bottle to use it in between washes. I wash my car once a week, and in between washes there are all sorts of yellow/green pollen bits all over my car. Wouldn't applying QD to this surface create scratches? In the past I have been applying QD AFTER I wash my car (and dry it) but I think this kind of defeats the purpose? Or is this how you guys apply QD as well?

Ok, try to do this point by point........

First of all, making the paint pop, is more in the prep work than in the LSP (last step protection)

Where you live may have a bearing on how long protection will last, but more so it will be driving conditions, atmospheric fall out, industrial fall out, type of driving you do and where/roads etc.

I am not a fan of megs black wax at all

I would do a sealant underneath then wax or sealant on top

some things you may want to consider are:
BF TPns (polish with sealant)
BF Cristal mist (wowa sealant)
Poorboys PWS (polish with sealant)
Poorboys EX-P (pure sealant)
BF sealant
Natty's wax
Fuzion

All of these products are very easy to use and leave a spectacular look and protection.

As far as QD's most are used for "light dust". Pollen is very abrasive. WASH IT !

Get some good Micro, soap and learn to take care of it. It makes it so much easier and so much nicer.

New car? tried and true to make the car pop - we do it all the time on new accords with fantastic durable results - not only that, is is the EASIEST way to do this - a big priority for me - all blackfire products
1. clay car - wash with dawn dishwash detergent
2. wax on buff off Total polish and seal
3. wax on buff off wet diamond AFPP
4. wait 12 hours - wipe on walk away two coats crystal seal - 4 hours apart

stand back and be amazed

Ive used meguairs waxes and I haven't really been impressed with their longevity. The shine is good, but their black wax doesn't really give you a good beading. Mothers Caranuba wax is great and you cant beat the price. I usually will throw a good coat on after i use M105/M205.

There is no comparison between Blackfire's Black Ice and any other black wax. Its expensive, but the longevity, beading and sheeting abilities, and deep gloss makes it worth the money. Im a cheap @#% that refuses to buy expensive wax, but this one is actually more than a just a gimmick...its the real deal.

Paint "pop" comes from the polishing step, the LSP choice only enhances what's already there. I would spend more on polishing than I would on LSP's. DG 106 lasts 6 months for me and looks great, and it's only about $8.99 a bottle.

Thanks everyone for the advice and welcome.

I am thinking of getting the BLACKFIRE BlackICE Whiplash Wax Kit.
BLACKFIRE BlackICE Whiplash Wax Kit

How many times does the 7.4oz BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Montan Sealant Wax last for? Is it just for one time or is there enough that I can use it two or three times? My car is a Buick Verano, same same as a Chevy Cruze.

I would say easily around 20+ applications for the full size pot. After one application you can barely tell you used any. You put it on very thin, so a little goes a long way.

I agree with ALL of the above however I would add Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant to that list. I just used it this past weekend on a pick up truck and topped it off with some carnuba wax. Amazing results to say the least!!!!

Sounds like you use this product. How does it compare to Wolfgang Fuzion? There are many many folks that want to know that one. :D
