IPA solution question.

I did a search on IPA and solutions and found a number of threads but still have a few questions. Is there a specific type of IPA I need to buy? I guess what I am asking is the IPA in the 16 oz bottle at a grocery or drug store is that the product that will work? I have a bottle of the stuff in the house and it is 70% so with that said I see it needs to be diluted with water so at this percentage to get the correct dilution rate is 50/50 to strong or not strong enough? I know there are other options available like CarPro Eraser and such but just trying to keep costs down to a minimum.

I am still about a month away from good warm weather and a good bumper to bumper detail and just wanted to make sure I had what I needed when the first nice days roll around. Over the winter I bought some BF products, BFWDAFPP and BFCS, which I will be using for the summer and want to make sure when I am done polishing that I get all residue off so I can get a good base for the BF products. I will be removing FK1000P that is on the car for winter protection and I am surprised it is still going strong after 5 months, I did put on 3 coats. That is what I will be removing. Any and all help will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dean.

IPA is IPA. It is isopropyl alchohol, there is only 1 compound in the world called isopropyl alcohol.

The only difference is the dilution :)

Thanks, that really helps. I read over the 1st page and noticed there was a lot of posts will have to read at another time.

I recommend using distilled water for your mix.

Thanks for the idea, was already thinking the same thing since I already have a gallon for mixing up other things.

Thanks for the help I appreciate it.

Dean. ;)
