So I'm working on a JB 650ci right now and I dont have anything to protect the top with.... Didn't notice I was out what I usually use as I dont use it that much. Anyone know anything OTC that works well? I need it today lol. Any suggestion would be greatful :autopia:

I have found and used a 3m spray interior protectant. It actually work well. I think it even has scotch guard in it. I picked it up @ Walmart.

The absolute best product I have ever used is called Raggtop, and is made by the Haartz company in Germany, who makes the convertible top material.

Their cleaner, followed by their spray conditioner/protectant, always gives me a beautifully clean, conditioned, nicer color top, that beads water like crazy.

Just follow directions, get it absolutely dry before you apply the conditioner/protectant spray, and prepare to be very, very, happy ! :)

Another trick I like to do to tops if they are not worn out or loosed threading, is to wash, rinse, and extract all the water out really good, so you are removing even more embedded gunk, lint, etc., and really leaving a nice, pristine, canvas to condition and protect with the next step.

I love 303 Fabric Protectant. I use it on my BMW top exclusively. But you need it now. I have a solution. Most boat stores sell it for biminy covers. If they dont have that, they sureley have Mary Kate fabric protector, its good as well. Go to your local marine supply store. They will hook you up.

I used to use a product called "The Tannery" and was able to buy it at K-mart. I always used it on my tonneau cover and all the interior and thought it was a great product, it was for vinyl and leather I believe. I don't know if they have it or what they carry anymore because, for personal reasons, I have boycotted K-mart.

Dean.
