Cold

It's no surprise that October in New England signals the onset of fall and ushers in cold Canadian air. Once I grabbed a cup of coffee I glanced over at the outdoor temperature and saw a crisp 26 on the thermometer.

I generally wait until the first frost to being in my detailing products for winter storage in the basement where they'll sit at a temperature no lower than 55 to 60 degrees...

I'll have my detail bag stocked with all the essentials which I will transport back and forth to a heated garage...as long as the woodstove is stoked!

It was 41 here today in central NC. It was a tad cool to wash the car this morning outside.

My to do list today includes leading the yearly migration of detailing products from the garage to their winter nesting place in the basement.

It sure seems like we skipped fall here in NW Mn overnight lows in the 20 and low 30's for a couple weeks now along with 12 plus inches of snow a week ago which I don't ever recall that much snow that early in my lifetime. It is going to be a long winter if it is like this already. I guess we will pay for it after the mild winter we had last year.

:rockon

I hear ya Bobby. I woke up to 32 degrees here today. I was all set to do a car show with the Nova but the thought of sitting in a parking lot freezing was not all that appealing. Weather here is for 75 degrees tomorrow and temps in the high 60's all week.

I am gonna hold off bringing all my stuff in for a bit. I want to have a little more fun :)

38 this morning when i was getting ready for work. on the drive in i had the window open for the crisp air to help wake me up! thats just about the only good thing the cold is good for! id rather sweat.!

We dipped to 26 here to this morning. This was the day I set aside to close the pool. Got all done and set for that cold winter.

getting THAT TIME. :( washed this afternoon, but with the sun you know how that is. i miss the early morning wash. but not at 34 degrees! sunday is supposed to be nice too. storage time soon..........

After a day of yard work I washed my truck then dried it. Once all the plastic was dried I gave it a nice coat of CarPro DLux.

DLux is a great product and has given me 5 solid months of rich dark appearance to the plastic exterior trim surfaces of my truck...

Tomorrow I'll apply a coat of sealant before I head to New Jersey on Monday....:bigups

Bobby - Do you top DLux with anything for extra protection?

No, not at all.

DLux
is a 1-step product that restores that new rich appearance and leaves lasting protection for several months. While the initial coat I applied on 02-Jun-12 wasn't 100% I'll bet 75% was still going strong....:bigups

Good to know. I will have to try it on plastic. Maybe some Ultima over the top would extend it.

It is wet here today but 69. I am glad I did not wash cars yesterday as planned. I did vac the interiors out of all my vehicles. Given the sun and trees, it is hard to see much after 5pm now so evening washing outside is not possible.
