Do you wash the car between layers of sealant or wax?

Some detailing steps require a certain period of time in between, such as 12-24 hours cure time for sealants. there will be more or less some dust settle on your paint surface during this time period. So do You wash your car before second layer of sealant? If yes, do you do a 2 bucket wash, a no rinse wash, or a waterless/QD wipe?

What I have been doing is that I usually just begin spreading another layer of sealant on top but I am afraid I might be sealing in some other dust accumulated over night?

Comment and feedback are much appreciated.
:thanks

I've only blown any dust that accumulates off. There usually isn't much to worry about.

I typically do a WW between, but sometimes I wonder if the polymers in the WW interferes with the sealant or wax that I am applying.

I'm just doing my own cars, so I know this does not apply for a client's car. I'm using UPGP and it only requires 45 min between coats so I do two in an aft, and a third a week later after doing a ultima soap wash...works very well...

I recently applied a fourth layer of Werkstatt Jett. Since only one day had passed between applications the surface was merely a bit dusty. I rinsed with a hose and applied Jett after drying the car. I did not wash only rinse. In the past if I have waited longer and the car needed a wash I would simple apply after washing.

As others I usually just qd if the car has not moved and it is just a short time later. But usually I apply up to a week later and do a full wash.

Thanks for the reply.
so i would say, depending on how dusty the area is and the detailer have to judge what kind of cleaning steps are needed.

usually i park my car in underground garage that is not too dusty.
think i will be fine with a QD/ WW wipe ;)

My own take is I would caution against using QDs or WWs that leave something slick behind, as that can interfere with the waxing process. (Unless it's a same-brand compatible product like ONR/OCW)

If I am layering my sealant, I'll be careful not to use a QD with carnauba in it for the wipedown but that's the only precaution I take.

I've never layered a sealant either. I've topped with a wax but that's all. I would rinseless or waterless wash if I were layering though.

I tend to wash my car in between sealing and waxing. But I use ONR cause it's faster and I usually only have light dust on the car.
