Not at all, Opti coat is supposed to have the hardness of a diamond, you take that speedmaster brush and you clean those wheels!

I have OCed mine and have seen no ill effects from using a brush and soap. I have actually used OPC a few times and still see no signs of the OG being removed.

I OPT coated mine as well, and in all honesty, they seem to attract more brake dust and dirt then they did before. Seem like I get better dirt repellent with DP wheel glaze. This has me pretty stumped that now when coated more dirt is attracted.
However the dirt is released much easier. I havent had to use Megs wheel brighter since I applied it.

I did my wheels and OC has held up great. Clean with just soap and water and my brush. Comes clean so much easier

I opti coated just one of my wheels to observe what the effect is. Pretty amazing really. Brake dust does not stick as easily and the wheel is much cleaner than the others. I hit them with degreaser and other cleaners with no effect to the coating. I am getting ready to repeat on all wheels.

This is great to hear as I am planning on putting OC on my wheels in the spring. I am going to go ahead and put OC on my truck as well...

Brake dust doesn't stick for me either. Tar specks don't grab as strong of a hold and can easily be removed with a quick swipe of my finger. ONR on a MF wrapped around my RG brush does the job of getting those barrels spotless every time.:rockon

The brush will be fine, but I love my wheel woolies...and after OC you will only need your shampoo mix. No strong wheel cleaner will be needed, but even if you do use one OC is very chemical resistant once cured.

Jim's spot on with this.
Even though the clear coats used on wheels is harder and tougher that that of your vehicles finish they still need protection over the long haul.
Cleaning then polishing your wheels will make them look their best and Optimum Opti-Coat will keep them looking this way for quite some time.
Once cured, this coating acts as a shield deflecting brake dust and contaminates making washing no more difficult that washing your car. You'll use the same soap and water mix with a soft sponge to keep them looking bright! :bigups

Even if they do attract more dust the ease in cleaning them is well worth the trade off.

I have Opti-Coat on my wheels they clean very easily. The beading had reduced somewhat but they still come clean with ease.

Maybe I'll have to try opti coat on my wheels and start with those until I get the hang of it. I guess I'll experiment on the wifey's car after I polish it this summer.
I currently use the daytona and they work well on well maintained wheels, less so on really bad barrels. I like that the one size can get everywhere I need it to even between the caliper and the barrel so I don't need to move my car forward.
you do have to stand to the side when pulling the brush out or you will get sprayed. I usually also put my fireman nozzle on light spray when I am about to remove the brush to knock back any backspray from the brush.
the large size is also good for reaching the entire barrel. I was getting bruised knuckles from an earlier 11" brush I was using which made it difficult to reach the full barrel of my back rims which are 8.5 inches wide...

Do you hold the nozzle at 90 degree angle to the wheel so you don't rinse off the cleaner before you get a chance to agitate it

Ok i'll have to give that a try because I hate the feeling of the dirty wheel cleaner hitting your arm everythime you pull the brush out.
