Those who use Buff & Shine pads, did you KNOW this????

ZL1Mark

Allergic to One Product
I was browsing their website, and took a close look at the application charts. The colors for some of the 4" pads do NOT equal the same aggressiveness of the same color 5.5" and 6.5" pads! This goes for orange and yellow pads. They flip flop in terms of aggressiveness from 4" to 5.5". So, 5.5" yellow = 4" orange, and vice versa. HOW STUPID IS THAT?????????

Foam Pads 4" Dual Head Foam Cyclo foam pads durafoam cyclo pads foam pads for the cyclo buffer

flat foam pads, flat foam buffing pads, car polishing foam flat pads, DA foam 5.5" pads, flex foam pads, pc foam pads, megs g110 flat foam pads, 5.5" detailing foam pads

I agree Mark because most people would just assume them to be the same. Had you not looked into it would you have, and how mant people know about the charts?

I just contacted ADS, where a lot of people buy B&S pads. Rick told me that the 4" yellow and 5.5" yellow that he carries are the exact same aggressiveness, so I dunno.

Not saying Rick doesn't know the product he is selling but based on your findings then either B&S have a miss print on their site that's needs to be corrected or it's the later.

I use Buff and Shine pads a lot and I know their color scheme for different size is different. I have to bring a list with me when I choose what pad is used.
That's stupid but their pads are nice so I still use their products.

The 4-in Cyclo pads are Buff and Shine and the descriptions at both Cyclo and AG match the larger size foam descriptions: yellow is more aggressive. Cyclo has two yellow: scrubbing and cutting.

I bet the B&S website is not correct.

Totally weird. If they are the same you would think they would use the same descriptions and simply change the "pad size"...

It would be nice if the industry would adopt standard colors across different brands to identify the aggressiveness of foam polishing pads. Barring that happening you have some choices, as you buy new pads label both the bag and the velcro with the pad aggressiveness ID. Next the more experience you get you can pretty much tell by squeezing a pad how aggressive or soft it is.

I just heard from Rick at ADS. He's a big B&S distributor. He told me the 4" yellow and 5.5" yellow are the same foam. I'm going to call on Monday to find out for sure, but how can you make such a big mistake????

That's what I have done on pads that aren't LC brand. It helps to know what I'm grabbing when I reach into the box
