I once heard they're a great idea for rotaries, but don't make any sense for DA's? Anyone care to comment, as I have no clue....

Are you talking about the CP pads with the blue cushion formally only offered by PAC? They were my favorite, go-to pad on a DA until the MF pads were introduced. Still like 'em on DA or rotary.

Yep, those are the ones. Does the blue cushion make the pad feel more firm? Are you talking about the CP pads with the blue cushion formally only offered by PAC? They were my favorite, go-to pad on a DA until the MF pads were introduced. Still like 'em on DA or rotary.

Thanks guys.
Todd, care to share your knowledge?
Is there a greater benefit to using constant pressure pads as opposed to regular flat pads with a DA?
:yayI don't know if I'd charactorize them as "firmer" feeling, the idea is to maintain more consistent pressure across the pad. They just feel better to me, just as the flat pads feel better than CCS. Personal preference.
Plus the blue part looks Smurfy.

I have no idea why LC hasn't come out 4" x 7/8" flat pads or constant pressure pads?I hope this isn't a thread jack, since it sort of goes along with the Constant Pressure Pads....but will the store be offering any 4" LC pads in the old foam (orange, white, etc.) that aren't CCS pads? Unless I'm mistaken, it looks like Hydro-Techs and CCS are the only options available for 4" foam pads.:help:

Lame!!!!! :wallI thought I remembered seeing 4" Constant Pressure pads at PAC at one time?
Never mind, I guess those were CCS too.
Not yet. I'm gonna practice on the Makita that Kevin Brown is letting me borrow.mark , did you get a rotary yet ?
Are the 5.5" CP pads 7/8", 1", or 1 1/4" thick?

If I buy a rotary, it will most likely be used 90% of the time with a wool pad and a compound. I will use my G110v2 for everything else.
