Product Review: Liquid Natty Blue

Ummm.... Ya.....
Product Review: Liquid Natty Blue

Initial Product Observations After Opening The Box:
- Slightly odd blue color. (Robins Egg Blue?) I expected it to be more the color of the regular Natty Blue.
- Nice bubble gum scent. No hint of chemical undertone.
- Seemed thin compared to other liquid waxes like Megs NXT 2.0. But not water thin.
- I was unsure how it would be to apply it by a buffer as it was so thin. I choose to apply it by hand for now.

Product Information:
1. Manufacturer: Poorboy's World
2. Made in: U.S.A.
3. Packaging: Clear Flip Top Bottle
4. Color: Robins Egg Blue
5. Scent: Bubble Gum
6. Consistency: Slightly Thinner than other Standard Liquid Wax's
7. Price: $19.99 – 16oz

1st Experience:
- It was easy to apply as it was a thinner than other liquid waxes. I like this. But at the same time it was easy to apply it a little heavy.
- In the areas where I applied to thick it was harder to take off. I had to rub with some firm pressure to get it off. I didn’t care for this.
- The overall look was good. There was no real difference in the look of the car compared to the wax that I had on it previously. (Megs NXT 2.0) The LNB gave the car a good depth and shine.

Current Test Vehicle:
1. Washed and dried the vehicle. Car was very dirty so it looked ok prior to this application of LNB.
2. I decided to put LNB to the test as it claims it can be used in direct sunlight and on a hot vehicle. I went ahead and pulled the car out into the sun and left it sit there for 30min.
3. I applied LNB using a clean yellow foam applicator.
4. After applying I went inside and had lunch for 1 hr before removal. I wanted to see have the heat and sun would affect the wax and it removal.
5. Buffed off wax and admired my work.

Notes From Test:
- LNB was very easy to apply
- This time I made sure to apply a very thin even coat.
- It started to haze almost immediately.
- The LNB was very easy to buff off.
- It seamed as thought the heat and sun actually aided in the curing and removal process.
- Car looks very good with the new coat of LNB.
- There is no noticeable muting of the flake. In fact I think that the really stand out nicely when look for them.
- The next morning the LNB felt nice and slick for a Nuba. Not as slick as a Menz Power Lock but I don’t expect a Nuba based wax to get that slick.
- It felt almost liberating to apply wax and buff it off in the sun. A definite change to the usual wash; and pull the car into the garage and stay there all day.

Future Plans:
- I want to test the durability of the LNB and do a standard maintenance was on it every week. I hope to get 4 – 6 weeks out of an application of this here in Ohio.
- I would like to retry applying LNB in the shade on a cool vehicle to see it the 1st attempt was simply my error in application or if it needs some heat to aid in the removal process.
- I am trying to line up a Black or Dark Colored car as another test subject for this wax.

Final Thoughts:
Overall this wax seems to be a winner. I will hold out a full judgment until I can test durability and Beading/Sheeting. I enjoyed the fact that I was able to apply this out in direct sunlight. This fact in itself could make it a very good wax for a mobile detailer that is stuck out in the sun and heat. Based on future pricing it could very well fall into price category that is saturated with OTC waxes. This would not be a bad thing in my opinion as being able to use this in direct sunlight and the overall final look would easily push it to the top of my list in this category.

Great review Troy. You answered all the questions at least I had about this product.
It will be interesting to see your durability results. With all this rain here in Ohio it will be also a good test to see how it holds up to spotting. Will the vehicle be stored inside or out?

Thanks for the review. It is interesting how the blue pigment separated from the wax.

How many other liquid waxes have you used to compare it against?

Thanks for the kind words guys.

John , the car is garaged at night but sits outside during the day. I do try and wash it at least once a week as well.

Al, I have used a few other liquid waxes.

Megs Gold Class
Megs Deep Crystal Carnauba
Collinite #845
Prima Banana Gloss
Turtle Wax Liquid

Spray Wax
Optimum Car Wax
Duragloss Aquawax

AIO

Poorboys Black Hole
Pinnacle XMT Carnauba Finishing Glaze

Does anyone know how this compares to Prima Banana Gloss?

I have BG as well. IMO BG has a little more filling ability than LNB. In my experience if well taken care of LNB will last slightly longer. I personally have found BG ever so slightly easier to work with.
