04 Mustang GT

This car is a regular of mine and has been for a long time. Being the first detail of the season I wanted to go a little farther than I have in the past (owner has always gone with the basic detail). After recieving my Pinnacle Sizzling Shine kit from John the other day Ive been dying to use it. This was a perfect opportunity to give Pinnacle a fair stab and surprise my client at the same time. The process was as follows -

Exterior
Wash with Pinnacle Body Work Shampoo (2 bucket method)
Clay with Clay Magic Blue and Crystal Mist Carnuba Spray QD
Poorboys SSR2 w/ White LC CCS pad on Griots 6in polisher
1 coat of Pinnacle Souveran
Tires and wells dressed with Auto Magic's Magic Dressing

Interior
Car Brite Xtra Duty and jumbo vent brush + steam, Car Brite glass cleaner, and dressed with Car Brite Inside Out aerosol and Pro Premo.

For such a simple process this paint really came alive. The SSR2/Souveran combo turned out to be amazing and really added depth and wetness to the paint that even I never imagined. Pinnacle and Poorboys both get 2 big thumbs up from me :bigups:bigups

Look at that hood! The clarity and reflection on that hood says it all. I don't care much for yellow cars, but you made this one a standout.

I thought I saw a spot on the hood and upon closer inspection it was on my computer screen. I got the screen cleaner out. See now that's a car I could test drive. Nice job.

Yeah, GH a test drive? Can you give us a clue as to how long that test drive might last? A day? A week? A month? Ahem....is that car ever coming back? :rofl

Mrs. Clean says that she could easily see herself behind that wheel. She'd float like a butterfly and sting like a bee Look out boys, clear the roads that girl can drive. :wow:


I can't say I have ever heard a discouraging word about Crystal Mist. Don't know why I've never picked up a bottle myself.

I might just have to flag down one of the Car Brite guys and check out this XTRA Duty product you've mentioned before and though I'm not a huge fan of aerosols that In and Out has piqued my curiosity.

How do you like the Magic Dressing? Is it your regular tire product? I can't really tell much about the amount of gloss. You didn't mention any other product than the car wash for the cleaning of the tires and wheel wells.

Xtra Duty is by far the best dry foam Ive ever used. I rarely come across anything it cant take care of. For headliners its a God-send. Aerosol dressing like Inside Out is fantastic for dressing vents and areas that are normally difficult or impossible to get to. I forgot to mention Using Car Brite Whamo (whitewall cleaner) on the tires and wells. Thats also been a go to product of mine for several years. As far as the Magic Dressing, its a good product but it was just one of those things that I bought out of curiosity and now Im just waiting until its gone.

Of the foaming aerosol upholstery cleaners, my long time favorite has been Blue Coral Dri-Clean, but sometimes it can be a hit or miss finding it on store shelves. I don't use a huge amount because I have reserved it for headliners, and I agree this type of product is a must have.

So do I take your comment to mean you are not impressed with the performance or cost benefit ratio of Magic Dressing? I have not used any of their dressings, but do like some of their car wash products and since buying their 777 APC I haven't felt the need to search for another (for automotive use), although I can't pass a bottle of Awesome (32 oz./$1) w/o picking it up :redface:.

Its not a bad product at all but its solvent based and is a little greasy for my taste. I live in a rural area and so do many of my clients. Dusty roads are a way of life around here and tacky tires collect it. Thats really my only complaint with it. It still drys pretty well for a solvent based dressing but its always a concern nontheless.
