hello everyone. my name is chris, i'm new to the site, i'm in the process of researching opening a mobile detailing and pressure washing business. i've found this site to be very informative. i always knew their was more to detailing then just washing and waxing a car, but didn't realize how much, i'm sure once you get then hang of it it's relatively simple.i'm open to any advice.

Welcome wheelc. Glad you've already found some good info on the site. The longer you stay and the deeper you delve, the more you will find. Enjoy!

Knowing the difference between and detail and a simple wash and wax is a really good start. As you move forward with your business you might find, however that some customers only wish for and want to pay for a simple wash and wax as everyone doesn't have the same expectations as many of us. Identify your target market. Determine the customer's wants. Meet and/or exceed their expectations (within reason, of course) and you should fare well.

Welcome to the site. A buddy of mine here at DC sometimes reminds me that detailing is not rocket science, but there sure is a learning curve.

Thanks for the replies. i'm from florida about 2 hours south of daytona on the east coast in a town called sebastian. I plan a doing alot of practice on my own vehicles. i have a black 1996 ford explorer that i've neglected a little to long, i'm almost embarassed to look at it. i'm gonna start out by clay baring it and waxing it soon to see how it comes out. then go from their.
