Email Spamming Alert on DC??

I have a hotmail address that I use for various online stuff that I don't care if it gets spammed. However this came to the in-box and it caught my eye only because I have never associated that address with DC. Not sure how that happened but wanted to alert others, there was a "learn more" highlighted, that's the link that IMO release the virus, if in fact it is spamming.

Is polishme another DC account? There is a member polishme from '04 that only has 4 posts. I sometimes get similar automated messages from forums where I rarely post. In fact I just got one a week or so ago from the AG forum.

NO the Admin sent me an email about this and in fact it was from DC.

I must have signed up with that hotmail addy back when I started with DC. Its the only way I would have received an email there

I haven't received a Detail City specific spam message. But the address that I use on all the forums gets HAMMERED with spam constantly ... mostly graphic viagra type messages, but everything else too... coffee of the month, franchises, Nigerian "found money" scams, etc.

My question is WHO responds to or buys this crap? SOMEONE must be answering these messages. Otherwise they would be a complete waste of the spammers time. ???
