Well driving to work today my 2004 Subaru w/ 50015 miles and the head gasket went on the way to work. I am having the car towed to a local Subaru dealer for repair. The repair bill will be $800 bills, any other car owner out there have a problem like this w/ only 50,000 miles?

I remember reading about a year ago on BITOG about head gasket failures and seems like the Subie was mentioned as one that was prone to doing that.
You will probably be good for another 50K.
One thing that helps on engines that are prone to the head gasket failure is to allow them to warm up before driving.
If it is really cold out allow the engine to warm some before driving it.

Well some good news, I heard back from Subaru, the customer service rep. said to fax any invoices that I get and she will try and get me a refund. I also found out that there is a class action law suit against Subaru for 2000 to 2004 Subaru's for my very problem.
