Let me preface this by saying I am not an Obama fan or supporter and that I didn't vote for him (or McCain).

With that said - I'll just say this, and hope it doesn't come off as too confrontational or make me sound too much like a jackass.

<Rant> I am absolutely sick and tired of hearing Obama is going to do this and Obama is going to do that. I have always leaned a little more to the conservative side of the issues, but let me tell you - the right/conservative side has as many - if not more - gloom and doom, division creating, crazy people as does the left/liberal. If there is one thing that will drive me to being a Democrat, it is crying, naysaying Republicans who can't get over the fact that they lost.

We had $5 gallon gas not even a year and half ago - and George W Bush was the president. Let's face it, both sides of the political arena are incompetent and need to be fired and replaced. There's as many moronic right wingers as there are left wingers, who do nothing but stir up confusion and misinformation on their talk radio shows. Our country will never propser until we come together and meet in the middle on issues. And guess what - that starts with us. it's not the politicians responsibility, it's not the governments responsibility.... it's ours.

While I don't agree with Obama and many of his policies, he is our elected leader, and I think he deserves our support. If you don't like the way your elected officials are running things, write them a letter. If they don't listen, fire them and vote in somoene new next election. Divisiveness, crybabying, scaremongering, spreading falsehoods, etc is the incorrect way to go about fixing our problems. Don't take everything you hear from Fox news and talk radio as the gospel truth. Do a little research, read excerpts of bills, and make your own opinions. Think for yourself instead of letting Glen Beck do it for you.

P.S. - and .60 added to a gallon of gas, will make it a few cents shy of $3 per gallon. Still beats Bush's $5+ dollar a gallon back a couple years ago. While I don't like it, I like 3 versus 5 pretty darn good.

JP, did Toyota ever resolve the "bed shake" issue with the Tundra? Was that an issue across the line or only in isolated cases?

As far as I know, it is still an issue on some of the trucks. I don't know how widespread the issues is or under what circumstances it is caused.
 
I saw it (I think) on youtube, and the cause was merely rolling down a paved highway at highway speeds. No towing and I think an empty bed.
 
Doing some quick research, I came up with a few statements:

1) most of the bed bounce issues were on concrete highways at 55+ MPH
2) most of the complaints were from CA
3) Most of the complaints were for the 2007 model year
4) the simplest fix is replacing rear shocks

While replacing the shock may help it would be a band-aid approach. The real problem is a poorly designed frame.
Toyota is new to building a full size truck and in time they will get it figured out but the early tundra has a poor frame and it needs a new designed frame.
I expect to see this happen very soon in future models.
 
Keep the faith. There is more than one truck out there. I think I told you my oddessy...one good truck fell through which allowed me to get a better (ie. more desireable to me) truck. It'll work out. Patience often pays dividends.

And regarding that salesman...every good salesman knows there is no such thing as it might be sold...either it is or it isn't and it isn't until all the paperwork is done.
 
Several, just know all the pictures in the world don't add up to looking at the thing in person. If you win a bid just contact the seller in advance and tell him you want the option to walk away if the thing's a toilet. Most good sellers will have no issues with this.

Note,:inspector: Any correspondence will be on the bidding record so as long as he or she knows that's what you want they can not do a thing.

There are some good finds and deals but you gotta look before you pay:bigups.
 
Well, it's being delivered Sunday. I must say I have never had an easier experience buying a vehicle. The internet sales manager was very attentive, and I felt like they took very good care of me. Of course, I still don't have the vehicle in hand yet, and things could still go south in a hurry, but I am going to be optimistic and not expect anything bad. :D

I may have just found a way to buy vehicles without dealing with all the hassle ad BS. :bigups

Don't want to jinx anything, but a hopeful congratulations your way.

I like the blue. Looks sharp. Looking forward to the specifics of the deal and the truck when things are finalized.
