I was contacted about cleaning up a bike, the owner just picked it up a couple weeks ago and set up a detail to get the bike back in shape. It has its fair share or surface scratches/water etching/road grime from sitting/riding in the rain over the past few weeks.

A quick swipe test on the front wheel..notice the letters have almost turned black as well.

The back wheel needed a good cleaning as well.

The paint was in dire need of a machine polish. To machine polish a bike, you must remove anything that could get snagged or hit by the rotating assembly of the machine. I usually start by removing the seats or any objects that protrude from the bike, the smaller stuff I tape off to prevent any damage.

In this lighting, you can clearly see the heavy water etching from sitting water.

In this image, you can clearly see the amount of surface scratches/swirls in the paint.

I proceeded to tape off half of the tank. I was surprised at the outcome, a true night and day difference!

Now some AFTERS! It was starting to sprinkle again as it had been raining on and off throughout the day, so please dont mind the water droplets. ;)

This is a nice shot to show off the bikes lines.

Very nice.

motorcycle + lots of swirls + water spots = Lots of patience.

You took it out in sprinles to get daylight pics of it?

Yes, the bike was repainted and not very well..but I atleast made it look BETTER! ;)

Looks like the tail sticker was painted over and from the factory there is a tank sticker under the clear. Definitely better and a huge turn around. :wow:

And those are some huge chicken strips on that rear tire. :rofl

Thanks! But its actually the complete opposite. These tires are VERY worn on the outside edge. What you are seeing is a clean tire only being pulled outside on the gravel road, so it hasnt been leaned over yet.

I stand corrected, much easier to see it in this pic, nice to see someone using their bike how it was intended. Seems to be becoming a rarity.
