Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
I detailed 3 very fine autos this Sunday !!! It was my first details of the season ... Life is GOOD ... Here is a teaser ... More to follow...

I'm wiping the drool off my chin. I need to see more! :wait :wait

Fuzz, Dwayne, whomever - we need a drool smiley!!

Wow! How do you get that red to look like that? Is that just regular clear coat or is it a special paint job? I know it's topped with your excellent handiwork too! :)

That looks so good. Very nice.

I wish I could get my red to look like that. I was just telling the wife Sunday - it still isn't quite what I want. Something is missing. I'm looking at it in your picture. Man I want that bad.

Here is the album from this Saturday...

Here was the line up...

1996 Porsche 911 Turbo
1940 something Ford Hot Rod ... Show winner
2001 Audi TT

The Porsche and the Hot Rod were Exterior only. And yes the Hot Rod was a single stage. The paint was really nice, only had to take out some minor swirls and light scratches.

What a great day !!! Enjoy !!!

hey by the way would you have any advise for a nebie too mobile detailing any tips/tricks ect???

I had a fixed location for about 8 yrs an this year Im going to go mobile

Did you detail the hot rod when it won BOS?

I love that red - Maybe it's me but I don't think clearcoat reds look as good as a polished single stage red. That's the deal right there.

I think I need to detail my mechanics chest this evening ....

The Hot Rod....

The Hot Rod was recently purchased by the new owner, and I must admit it was in really nice condition (too be expected). The interior was flawless and did not need anything done to it at all. The paint was very well cared for and only needed a claying and a polish/seal/wax. The car had an step outside the door that was also painted and that area neded to be cut with Meguiars medium cut cleaner with an Edge light cut pad to removesome scratches. The area was then buffed with #9 and an Edge polishing pad, and finished with # 9 and an Edge white final finish pad. The entire car was then buffed with an Edge white pad and #9. The car was sealed with UPP and topped with AutoMagic EZ Paste wax. The car was about 99.9 % swirl free in direct sunlight, and was one of the most unique cars I ever detailed. I consider my self fortunate to enjoy my work as much as I do !!!

Porsche was also an exterior only and those wheels were soooo nice !!!!

Beemerboy... The only inside and out full-detail car was the TT. I must admit that I consider myself a very fast detailer, because of a systematic program I use on each vehicle. My van set-up is even more efficient this year that it was last year. I try to completely minimize the amount of time I spend going in and out of the van and my power supply is know mounted in the rear of the vehicle and I no longer mess with various extension cords when powering equipment. Water tank and pressure washer is also mounted at the back door and is very time efficient and easy to use. I will try to explain in detail later this week how I save time detailing, and will post with pics of the van and my equip/chemicals.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Hey CD - Do you always use a rotary? Or Do you use a PC on your mobile jobs??

(Hey Zesty...is all of HI voting for Jasmine? Isn't the other girl from Hawaii too/)

Tremendous Work!...and thank you for considering sharing your time savings methods and logic. I know I can certainly use some "Flow" to the actual process.

groebuck...

I have found that the rotary is the fastest and most effective way to correct minor paint imperfections and restore a high gloss finish to both clearcoated and especially single stage paint. I prefer the rotary over the PC, however the PC is used and I carry (2) of them with me at all times. I do believe that excellent results can obviously be acheived using the PC, however I mostly use the PC for light polishing on newer finishes. I have used the PC for applying waxes and sealants in the past, however I just bought a cordless Nikota dual action polisher with the hopes of using it for quick wax/sealant applications. I will post with results after i get the chance to try the cordless out.

360Modena... The owner did not hear of me. On the contrary I heard of him and contacted him via e-mail about a year ago. He has since become a good customer and I also consider him a friend.
