Quick wash and waxed Beetle

I got the windows tinted on my daughters 05 bug and thought that I would clean up the mess they left on the outside, it all started with just a quick wash yesterday, but ended up giving it a mini detail, finishing up tonight.

Started in the engine with a wipe down using Poorboys QD+, I have really come to love this stuff, I use it just about anywhere I can, and as you can tell it does well on plastic.

After the wash, the paint got a wipe down of PB's S&G ( I use it as a drying aid), then a layer of black hole followed by two coats of Nattys red, by the end of the week I should get another coat or two on. Here are couple of pics of the paint, no outside pics, sorry, its dark and its late here.:crazy2:

Why do us Dad's always think we are going to do a small thing for our daughters and then it ends up taking the whole day? Nice work on the Bug! We all love our kids the same. I hope she gave you one of those daughter hugs and said " I love you Daddy!"

:wow:Sweeeet Job Robert:bigups
Now you know full well when you walked in that Garage this would happen:wall:wall:wall

"Gonna give it a quik wipedown":lmfao...

Great job on the bug Robert, i know when my son comes by in his jeep and i say lets give it a quick wash it never stops there.I give it what has become The DUDE special.

We've really come to love Mrs. Clean's bug. Her's is a '03.5 Turbo S in Silver Reflex. That popping metal flake paint loves PB's EX or PwS like your Daughter's black paint loves the BH/NB Red. And isnt' that QD+ a nice little product? For vehicles that are already well prepped and you are doing a maintenance wash, a few moments spends yields nice visual return. I have yet to try it on plastic.

thanks for the kind words guys, she graduated this evening and this car was an early gift, so I wanted looking its best for her tonight.

Beetles have to be the worst car to detail. I am, as we speak, detailing my grandmas Beetle. The paint is in bad shape and its only a 2000. The four years I was away at college was it's downfall. For the past 3 years I have done complete details twice a year with maintenace washes in between. The hot sun here in Myrtle Beach has taken it's toll on this car. Paint is faded and when she had to have body work done to it, the new paint didn't exactly match up with the original. My biggest complaint is the brakes throw so much brake dust. Brake dust gets in the door jams, on the car, on the rims..every little crack or crevice. Back to cleaning..... :wall

I wonder if the right brake pads are being used on it? I have ceramic pads on this Beetle and its virtually dust free.

As far as I know, they are the stock brake pads. Her wheels are 5-spokes. I tried some of that new Keep Clean stuff by Eagle One so we'll see how it works.

Hmmm...RUBigDog05, We have the OEM VW pads and don't have near the brake dust issues that you seem to experience.

The New Beetles are about as easy a vehicle to detail as I have. Small size, extremely easy reach to all panels. Panels don't have an extreme shapes which make buffing so easy. The clear is hard which does present some issues for correction. But the Silver Reflex paint explodes with metal flake and is just stunning when properly prepared.
