I would get a real sheepskin mitt and avoid any kind of synthetic wool mitt.

And personally, I am not a believer in "grit guards."

Looks like a complete list. You can't go wrong with Poorboy's stuff.

:inspector:Looks like you have a nice list going :bigups
The only thing I may add wold be some Secret Goo & SSR1:drool:
I can't say I don't beleive in grit gaurds(I know there out there, I've seen them:D) However I've never used them.:rockon

Looks pretty good. I agree with Sal though. You should get some SSR1 to follow the 2.5 with. The Poorboy's products are good and very user friendly. You should get some great results with them. And when you are done, post pics!

I've managed to do without one for decades now. I think I will continue to do so.

You are going to want several (to several dozen, depending on your volume) wash mitts/sponges and I agree with JP, for mitts go with genuine sheepskin for paint. Cheaper synthetic would be OK for undercarriage work starting out. Going forward you can just rotate your used sheepskin mitts for that purpose as they get too dirty/ragged for paint use.

I keep a a lot more polishing pads than cutting pads or finishing pads.

And agree on the need for a lighter finishing polish, though I can't comment based on experience on the SSRs. I know you can get lots of references from others.

Hey Derek what are you using for you car soap? You wanna have a good lubricating soap so you can keep the micromarring out durning the washing proccess.

I only say get two pads for some of them because you will need them its always good to have. :bigups

Other than those things great list good luck on your purchase :yay

edit: I agree on getting the SSR 1 or you can get PP your choice.

ok, have to ask, what is secret goo exactly? i couldn't find anything.

I can't say....Steve (Poorboysworld.com) will only tell me "It's a Secret:notme:"

Maybe if you place a decent order Steve will toss in a Sample....Maybe you can help us figure out what it is...:yikes:

:wow:All I know is it works wonders if you follow it with "Natty's Blue/Red:rockon

ok, i added ssr1, after the fact, so hopefully it's not too late to put in with my order.

hopefully get some secret sauce too. ;)

Car soap I was gonna get locally. AZ or something. Any recommendations?

I have some good MF towels already, so don't need them right now.

I upgrade to the real sheepskin wash mit.

THanks,
Derek

I would get the Natty's red instead of the blue for your car because it will make the metallic flakes pop even more. It all just preference

:crazy2: ackkk...making me crazy...lol... i will just stick with the blue for now. I already changed the order twice.

Sorry dude. Beware we can all get a little crazy like that on here it's a kind of disease we have.:D

I feel like I'm going to have one of those really really soon. My finger is itching to have some detailing supplies and I lost some of my Poorboy's supplies. Summer is around the corner......

ProPolish would be another alternative to SSR1. It does have corrective properties when used with the proper pad and speed with DA or rotary polishers. Even without its correct measures it is a good paint cleaner even when applied by hand. Eventually one will need to clean the paint and correction may not be necessary at some point in the future.
