We go tasting wine at the local winery's about once a month now, it was two to three times a month when we first moved here..Today we like certain ones, they have nice grounds so we can buy a bottle and then hang and eat a picnic.

It's on the sweeter side, but not overpowering. It starts off very smooth and finishes with a burst of flavor. The pricetag isn't too bad either. I've seen it for $9-$12. It's a twist top, but all of the sommeleirs I've talked to say that it really doesn't matter if it's a cork or a cap these days. Both are quite effective ways to top a bottle. It's usually only the really snooty people that frown upon drinking wine from a bottle topped with a cap. If you really like Spanish reds, you might want to look into a brand called Hard Core. It's a Spanish varietal that is really good, IMO.

On reds, pinot noir is the varietal that I gravitate to, but I enjoy about any good red...whites its mainly chardonnay, I'm really mainstay on that area, sav blancs are OK but only for summer hot weather for me.

I could go on about this for hours, again living here in the wine country taints you in lots of ways:D

Just returned from Vegas attended a trade show...here is the bill for dinner one night...this was only two of us!

That was at the fine dinning at the Venetian

And the wine list from another restaurant that we had dinner in

The wine list was at a french place in the Paris where we stayed

:wow: And I thought things were tough in Cali &Vega$...Good Greif :passout:

$700 for Dinner(with Tip:bigups) is Ridiculous.I will never pay more than $200 for any Meal(Wife & I, and it had better be a special occasion)I mean in 24hrs or less I will be unloading it out my backside.:fart:

Next time try tha Buffet...Maybe not as Elegant. But think of all tha Wax you could buy.:rockon

What did you guys have? I see the creme brulee, cavier, duck entre and I'm guessing that's the wine at the top. The prices really don't look so bad, especially for the entres and the desserts.
 
Just got back from Chinese food with my extended family. I'm leaving here tomorrow, finally starting to turn home. I get more excited the closer I get, mostly because I'll get to clean my car properly for the first time in months. :cool:

This guy is very rooted, he just made a lot of money in the electronics industry in the 90's

I worked for the company at the time, when we went public he was one of the founders...about 40 mil over night for him....so the 600 bucks for dinner was nothing:D

Yes one of My Fav customers is a very down to earth fellow. He retired as C.E.O. of a Major Medical Device company....The last year alone He Walked away with over 175 Million. There is something that puts my mind at ease knowing I have Freinds/Customers like this:bigups

I know how you feel...I had to go back into the electronics industry its where the money is for what I do, traveling more than I like but the bennies are real nice!
