After the machine work is complete

Dewey,Cheatem & Howe ESQ.
After the PC work is done and before the last step sealer or wax,can you wash the vehicle before sealing?

Wanting to get all the buffing dust ect off and then finish.

Can you do this without marring up what you have done so far.:inspector:

Just get a couple of nice microfiber towels to get all the dust of the vehicle. I think washing the vehicle would be an added step and a waste of time. Plus you'll have water in all the cracks and crevices again.
 
I prefer to wash, or at least give a car a high pressure rinse after polishing. I think the water helps get any polish and dust out of the cracks and such....it takes a few extra minutes, but the car looks that much better afterwards IMO.
 
For me it just depends on how much dust I've accumulated. If i'm running 3 steps with a rotary I'll have more dust and will do a quick wash. If I'm correcting with a Cyclo or a PC most of the time I don't have enough dust or any at all to justify another step and time of re-washing.
 
I always pressure wash after polishing. I always seem to get some compound in one crack or another. Plus it insures that I have a clean car to wax.

Ditto. An air gun and microfiber towel will also do the trick (Blower will not work).
 
As with most things detailing, there is no "right" or "wrong" way, just what works for you. Me, I like to do a wash to get everything out of the cracks and off the surface, polishing oils, etc.
 
The problem is or was for me the vehicle IS BLACK.That being said we all know what dust looks like on a black finish.I did give the vehicle a quick bath and then sealent.WOW it looks great.

as it was said before ..there is no right or wrong way, just what ever works best for you :rockon
 
at work at the dealership, i usually wont wash unless its a a 3 stage (wool, foam, pc) polish. my private side jobs i like to, makes me feel better even if it really needs it or not. any1 using a wash/wax shampoo after the polish and b4 the final lsp?
