Leather seats in work truck

1st off this is my personal truck (05 gmc sierra slt) that has been turned into the work truck. Thanks boss! I'm taking part of the day off to detail and one issue that is really bothering me is my leather seats. The passenger seat seems to be covered and probably stained with dirt, filth, and maybe grease. I have not tried anything to clean it with but want to make sure I am prepared 1st thing tomorrow morning. Just looking for something suggestions that I can find over-the-counter. Also I was told to try tuff-stuff.

Thanks,

Jamie

On old, abused leather, I have used Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Foam Cleaner/Conditioner. You just saturate the leather and let it soak for a while, then wipe and re-foam if necessary.

It comes in an aerosol can... cost's about 8 bucks. I think Advance carries it.

Works well for old, worn leather and won't cost you arm and leg.;)

That sounds great! I will definetly give that a try. Should I pass on the tuff-stuff spray?

The Duragloss leather duo works well and you can usually pick them up at Carquest. I don't use it, but some members really like the Lexol duo. That is also readily available. Or, you can use Woolite 10-1 or 8-1 for cleaning.

Re: Leather sets in work truck

I have used tuff stuff in the past and as far as it's cleaning ability it was OK but every can I ever bought stopped foaming about one third of the way through. That irritated me so much that I just gave the rest of my stock to a friend and bought Poorboys world APC to replace it. I have used armor all leather care withhalf decent results but the stuff is too slippery IMO but it did clean OK. I use Poorboys world leather stuff now and do not plan on looking back at any other product for my own car or good customers. For cheap penny pinchers I will use the dollar store leather care. Hope this helped, TD

Definitely pass on the tuff stuff it is not for leather... I tried it once and was scared to death when I could see the color coming off the leather with every wipe. I do however love tuff stuff for other things.

It stained my headliner and seat in a car I had a few years back

Wow! the headliner because that is what i actually use it for. Spray on and use a wet terry cloth to working and remove. Does wonders for me.

The seat, was it leather?

It was tan cloth, not sure what the headliner was made of.I shouldn't say stained just made it much lighter almost a whitish color.Almost like it bleached it
