Need Professional Help!

Hey All. I got a dilemma. One of my customers is a painting business. The owner wants me to do his vans. Each one is covered in paint drops. I'm not talking "overspray" here. I mean spots of oil-based exterior home paint!! Now the owner said "Oh yeah, just use some Zylene and it'll take that stuff right off." My reply...."Right along with your clearcoat."

So how would you other pros tackle this one. There is WAAAYYY too much paint to clay it off. THat would just be too labor intensive, I think. I'm considering a medium compound with a wool pad, but would far prefer to compound it off with my PC and a heavy cut foam pad. Who has done this before and what worked???

you can use kerosene / or laquer thinner on a damp rag and then wash immediately after each panel ..I doubt they are looking for a swirl free look but rather a clean and shiny ... so after the paint is removed, then buff it well with a one step product.
 
Also, can I rinse frequently , or would wetting the untreated spots make it harder for the kerosene or thinner to work??
 
Check the farm supply stores for kerosene. Maybe hardware store might have it. Kind of pricey in 2.5 gallon jugs, Nearly $25 around here at TSC and BOOMGAARS,havnt looked at ORshelns.

that would be a trial and error scenario ... there's no telling how much paint you are dealing with and how long it's been there:inspector:
 
Steve also said Laquer thinner and you should be able o get that at any hardware store or even Wall Mart, Target, etc.
