PB's Bug squash and LSP

distrbd

all in the details
Hi all.
I have always used PB's bug squash under the assumption that it does not harm the LSP, and in my own experience it did not remove a fully cured DG #105 .
What is your experience? when you used it did you ever notice it removing LSP ? do you use it straight or is it diluted ? is there less of a chance of harming LSP if it's diluted?
Please let me know.
Thanks.

The info on PB's web-site suggests using it diluted 3:1 for most things. Stronger for heavily soiled areas.

On heavily bugged or soiled vehicles I use it full strength. If it is that bad that I use it full strength, then surely it isn't one of the vehicles I take care of and chances are it isn't protected, if BS were strong enough to remove an LSP. But for vehicles that need a little more cut than a regular wash I am not hesitant to use BS 2:1 or 3:1 ... I don't worry about losing the LSP with it, fantastic product BTW.

Thanks for your replies ,I'm sorry if my question was not clear ,So if the paint has a well cured LSP ,the BS should not harm it Right?

Thank you Charles right on man :bigups

BS should be diluted like Charles said 3:1 a little more or less depending on the severity of the bugs or grime.

It might be worth a little clarification about the ratios.
3:1 being????
3 parts BS to 1 part water or
3 parts water to 1 part BS.

Just my guess: 3 parts BS to 1 part water.

I'm afraid my question has not yet been answered.:bow
What I'd like to know is :does Bug Squash remove any LSP on the paint?:inspector:
I thank you all for your input:bigups but my question arose when I recommended BS to another member (in a different forum)and mentioned that is did not remove an LSP ,but a member was surprised that it didn't, and was almost sure that it did remove an lsp ,that's why I want to once and for all put this question to rest.:)

I have never noticed it competely removing the LSP from my vehicles. However subjective that may be - I have not performed any scientific testing in this regard. Just going by feel, how the water acts on the surface, and how dirt cling to the surface, my answer is BS does not affect LSP in a 'negative" way.

FWIW, I use it 50/50 almost all the time. Also, more pennies for thought from me is that I think LSP is an ever-degrading sacrificial super thin layer of protection over a vehicles paint. Even the mere form of washing in my opinion removes a bit of LSP. But hey, that's just my opinion.

I may be a bit jaded - Bug Squash is probably one of my favorite detailing products ever.

I agree with this completely :bigups

Agreed.

At least when I BS, I don't dilute it. I'm 100% BS.

:rofl:rofl

But seriously, it is a darn good product! And I don't think it would remove the LSP. Depending upon how strong you apply it, how hard you rub it in, and how old the LSP is.

Bumping this with a question

This year love bugs are supposed to be especially bad.

A long long time ago, I remember a car actually over heating from these bugs clogging the radiator fins.

Would it be worth while spraying this full strength in radiator fins then let it sit and hose it off?

I know it works great for exposed bugs, but was wondering if it would be helpful in radiator.
