Mini-Detail Today- Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Today I did a quick mini-detail for my mom. The car is in great shape, mini marring and a few dents and scratches over the past 6 years. No pics of the interior because I didn't do much besides vacuum and wipe down the dash. No before pics because there isn't anything to put the spotlight on besides all the pollen. The car was detailed a little over 6 months ago I guess and washed when needed since then. It needed a good coat of wax. I picked up some new 3M Cleaner Wax and and liquid wax from Walmart this morning. I just wanted to try something new besides Poorboys that was OTC. The 3M was easy to work but I need some more practice with the rotary, along with some new pads for the rotary and the PC.

Process:

Washed yesterday
Wiped down this morning with PB Spray N Wipe
Clayed hood, roof and trunk
3M cleaner wax with polishing pad with rotary
Meguiars polish with polishing pad with rotary
PB Polish with Sealant with finishing pad on PC
3M Liquid wax by hand (Need a new finishing pad for PC)
Black Magic tire gel on tires
Stoners IG on glass

Onto the pics!

Let me know what you think! Thanks

That's a lot of steps for a "quick mini-detail". :) It sounds like you get carried away like I do when working on family vehicles. :)

Excellent job, and like the others, this looks like alot more then a mini detail...nice work:bigups

Well call it what you want. The results are self evident. The paint in the pictures is very vivid and wet.

Love the wheels. Really sets off the look that you have provided.

I did not charge my mom anything. I'm still living at home rent-free so there is no way that I would charge her. I considered it a mini-detail because I only concentrated on the exterior. I did vacuum the interior and wipe the dust and pollen off the dash, but other than that, that was it. I didn't touch the trunk or engine compartment...just didn't have enough time. The just needed some wax but I wasn't going to put wax on a surface that needed some attention. Thats funny that someone said the wheels set it off.....those rims are FUGLY. They are stock for the car. I tried talking her into new rims and tint but its getting up there in miles so it would be a waste. Thanks for all the compliments. I will be doing the F-150 in the pics next weekend if the weather is nice. Good ole Spring cleaning for all the cars. Gotta earn my stay somehow!

In my own defense I did not say that I liked the rims on the vehicle. What I said is I loved the look of the wheels that matched the look of the paint on the pictures or more accurately what was provided in the pictures. They are as shiny and wet as the paint.

Very nice job! Good reflection shots considering the color of the paint. Yes I agree the rims are ugly.

Sorry I misunderstood you...I can't believe those wheels were Ok'd by Pontiac to put on the cars. I can't believe my mom drove off the lot with those wheels on the car...but she doesn't car, she just drives it.

i didn't ask how much you charged your mom. I asked how much you charge for a mini detail. I'm getting the clue you aren't a mobile detailer - my bad....

I wouldn't call myself a detailer...maybe an amateur detailer on the side. For what I did, for a car that size, I would probably charge about $80.00 or a little more depending on the condition of the. When someone asks me for a an estimate, I ask what they want done and then go from there...around $20/hour.
