Anyone use Turtle Wax zipwax car wash?

No, I have never used Turle Wax shampoo. From time to time people mention it but it does not seem to catch on. Hey if you have good luck with it I would stay with it.

I tend to stay with Poorboy's SSS or Zaino Z7 both are very good.

Right there is the most valuable opinion.
It wouldn't be my choice, but if you are happy with it, that's what counts.
Two things.
1. I would prefer a car wash that didn't claim to leave something on your paint. I don't want any wax on my windshield and I would rather use my own wax on the paint.
2. I don't think I have ever used a truly bad car wash.
 
I have 3 gal. of Turtle Wax Platinum series ultra gloss soap that I bought from a place that was going out of business.
I paid $1.00 per gal. for it.
In my opinion it is OK just not as good as some others.
Mine has been sitting for a couple years I have been using DG and the TW has got separated and cloudy I need to shake it up and if it is still OK use it rather than leaving it sit and keep buying more of another brand.
I'm I the only one guilty of doing this I'm betting their are others that buy stuff and then not use it.

Yes!
No one else here ever buys anything they don't need.

Like I really do need 6 polishes, 6 LSPs, 6 wash mitts, 50 MF towels, 20 applicators, 20 PC pads, several gallons of QDs and car washes, etc., etc. :D

There are plenty of boutique washes that claim to be a wash and wax/sealant. Poorboy's sells one.

I've tried Zip Wax and it works great. I look at the small amount of added wax as more lubricants to protect against marring..........not for protection.

To each his/her own. I look at that small amount of added wax as something I not only don't need, I really don't want it.

The only soap with wax that I've tried was Finish Kare Poly-Wash & Wax Concentrate and I liked it for the same reason. I really don't care about the wax, but the lubricity was amazing. Like most of you guys I've tried dozens of soaps, and right now I'm using Griots and Optimum which are nice, but I'm thinking of going back to FK with wax because of the slickness.

Give one a try if you never have and see what you think.

Edit: I've never noticed anything left on the glass because of the wax in the soap.

Since I don't use a wash/wax product, I am only speculating, but.....
If the product leaves something on the paint, isn't it likely to leave something on the glass?

That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it is something I'm not interested in.
My hesitancy in using wax on the windshield is caused by a couple of things.
1. The smeary mess on his windshield that a friend that used a drive-thru car wash with a spray wax application always had.
2. Rain-X users. They either loved it or hated it and removing it seemed to be a real problem if they happened to be a hater. :)
I figured if I avoided both, I wouldn't have to worry about how they would work for me.
It is difficult enough for me to be satisfied with the glass condition using a dedicated glass cleaner on just untreated windows. :D

It still comes back to the old saying, "Whatever works for you". :bigups
 
The only time I have deliberately applied anything other than glass cleaner to my glass is on my show car.
A very slight amount of polish like DRI-WASH will add a shine to the glass that you just can not achieve with glass cleaner.

Since I only take this car out on nice days all is well but I have got caught in a rain and it is like a heavy application of Rain-X

I don't do it to my DD because I'm not that particular with it and I don't like the Rain-X
I prefer the way a wiper works on a clean windshield.
 
used the TW yesterday to wash the jeep. the suds were fine. after drying, it does leave a nice finish. this is a product that's been out for year's. for a DD, i think it's fine.
 
Ive used this stuff the last like 2-3 years and works wonders, going to see what all the fuss is about the meguiars GC car shampoo and see if it really is all that but Zip Wax Definately gets A+ for Cost VS. Quality bang for your buck !

and on top of the wash and wax combo i hit the car with eagle one wax as you dry spray and microfiber it off and the shine lasts at least 2 weeks, sometimes even longer and the water just beads like a mofo ! IMO pretty good for not having a polishing machine available or money to buy solid paste waxes !
