Quickie Review: Meg's NXT 2.0

OH by the way JARED if you keep making comments like NXT is better than Zaino the Z zealot's will put out a contract on you. :rofl
Interestingly enough, we have several Zaino users on the forum, but I don't think any of them qualify for the zealot label.
They use it, like it, recommend it, but are able to accept the fact that it isn't for everyone.
FWIW, the constant Zaino promotion by some people is probably the main reason I don't use it.
I have used it and it is a good product without a doubt.
It is just one of many good products we have available, though.

This review has prompted me to try this new improved product. I recieved a sampler in the mail(Thanks Jared!!). I am looking forward to using it and comparing it to other products in my arsenal. The comparison to Zaino and its slickness is probably the most affirmative item in the whole review for me. That and the fact that Jared did not notice any staining of trim. Something that got me to stop using Meguiars products in the first place

Well, before I become the scapegoat (:D) let me reiterate that I did not try to get any on the trim intentionally. From what I have read, it doesn't seem to stain trim, although I think I saw a Mike Phillips post that said something along the lines of don't get it on the trim if you don't have to or something.

And as far as the zealots go, I have met some very kind and knowledgeable people during my Zaino test run, and I gotta say they aren't really "zealots." After using the Z, and seeing that it really isn't as earth-shattering as I had heard (a million times), I think the people who are labeled zealots are really just out there blowing smoke up someone' orifice. Zaino looks good, don't get me wrong. But for someone to say "It's the best" without trying a whole lot of other stuff is just simply talking jive. It's good, but honestly for all the hype I was expecting something utterly new and groundbreaking, which just didn't happen. The zealots are just pushing their opinions - the true Zaino-ites who are knowledgeable and don't try to push it down your throat are really the ones you should be listening to for Zaino advice. I hate that some people act like jack-holes and give the product this "reputation." It really deserves to stand on it's on without all that other crap.

I'll keep using the Z stuff I have until I run out, then I will evaluate if it's worth it to me to purchase the essentials and keep using it. Time will tell.

Well stated. I totally Agree. :bigups

I have not seen this much on DC but at CF I think a couple of poster are hired guns for Z and it got so bad that the moderators had to crack down on them.
One of them got himself banned from DC about a year ago.

Just a quickie update on "longer-term" thoughts:

The 2.0 seems to be holding up quite well. It's been washed several times and refreshed with UQD. It still looks very new, and beads probably the best of anything I have used. True, some of that may be attributable to the UQD. I can already state for certain, this new version lasts longer and looks better than the original.

As an aside - it's now available by itself at the MART. I saw it this weekend for 12.97 or so. It says 2.0 on the box.

It has quickly moved up there with some of my more well thought of LSP's.

I am sad to say that I was in Walmart the other day wife my wife and went into the detailing section to look for NXT. I saw the new NXT 2.0 sitting on the shelf priced at $14.38 plus tax. I pondered it for a little while and decided against purchasing it at that time.

I am even sadder to say that while I was returning to the electronics section, where my wife was shopping, I walked past a clearance shelf and spied a box of seven products by Meguiars with NXT 2.0 included for $13.00 plus tax. I succumbed and purchased the whole Package.

The Black truck is due for a complete detail in the coming weeks and I plan side by side testing of NXT and Zaino with other products added to the mix. Some will be new and others will be tried and true oldies.

It has been a while since I have been excited to test anything and your thread, Jared, has definitely got my juices flowing.
