Mobile Detailing Services
I post a detail a few months ago of this vehicle. The owner is a manager of a local Mexican restaurant here in Blue Ridge. Since the M's last detail, it's been out of state and driven by a relative of the owner. It came back pretty rough with some wash induced swirls. The nice thing though was that Signature Series II was still beading! Pretty impressive on dark color to me. Oh well. It was a Saturday, my wife was out at her moms, and I was detailing an M.........pretty nice day to me!

Oh something more.......
This is sort of a mini-Cyclo review. I simply love this machine!!!

Wash Cycle:
NXT & Purple Power Pre-Soak
(Applied with foam gun and let dwell for 2 minutes before rinsing)
I simply let this soak and the mix works. Bugs, brake dust and grime let loose. It cleans the engine bay as well. I simply finish the wash with a DP Four-in-One rinseless wash.

Engine Bay, Tires, and Wells:
Armor All Tire Foam & Gel
Not much to talk about here. Not much tire either! I covered the bay with the foam BEFORE the rinseless wash though. This is so the overspray can be cleaned away. I close the hood, crank, and let bake for 15 minutes........or while I do the interior with the A/C on! The well received the foam as well. The tire got a quick swipe of gel. If all tires were like this, I would only have to buy tire dressing once a year!

Paint Correction:
Menzerna PO106ff & Clearkote VMG Mix
(75% 106/ 25% VMG.......to cut down dusting)
(Applied with the Cyclo and EDGE2K Yellow Cutting pads)
This mix was brought to my attention by a fellow detailer named "ScottWax". He has been using the mix with success for a year now. He told me not only would the dusting be done away with but that the depth and clarity would be improved. All were correct. There was no dusting. The glass like appearance of 106 now had some improved depth and richness to it.
Here just look. This with nothing but the above mix........

Paint Protection:
Surf City's Barrier Reef Wax
(Applied via Cyclo and EDGE2k White Pads)
Having had success on the EVO with this awesome, inexpensive wax, I wanted to use it again. This time on one that I'm going to see bi-weekly and that is a dark color. A couple of dots on each pad got it primed. Once primed, a little goes a long way. It goes on a lot like NXT liquid. Smells nice too. It does come off easier with no streaking and with only one coat. In full sun too. Depth was really nice. The touch factor was soft....just like a carnauba wax should be.

Going on..........

One of the major benefits of using a Cyclo is being able to utilize it's four inch pads. I don't care what polisher you use, there will be spots that will have to be waxed by hand. With the Cyclo and EDGE2K Pad system you just pop off a wax filled pad and go to work in the tight areas. This saved time and time is money to me.

In action.........

The car came out great of course its a BMW what can I say:D:D:D.....the only question I have is, was it necessary to foam down the motor, the pad under the hood? its like a bit of over kill IMO and a risk that you didn't get any electrical components wet that might short out...out side of that the car looks fantastic.

I know there is plenty that have no problem spraying down an engine like that but I'm not one;)

I totally understand. I've done literally hundreds of bays but there could always be the "one" that gets me. I guess it's just a risk of the business.

Thanks for the compliments!

That ///M looks AMAZING...I would love to have it. Future car if I must say. Great detailing and great pictures.

Risk of the biz? No Justin its the risk of how you are cleaning the engine bay

There are plenty of ways to clean a engine without soaking it like that

If this is working for you then personally I don't care but its not the risk of detailing an engine...its the process.

As I said the car looks really nice and I am jealous that you got to work on an m3

:yikes: I'm with you beemerboy. I cringed when I saw the foam all over the engine. Everybody has their own way of doing things though.

Once I foam up a car I don't have time to mess with the engine or anything else. I go right to washing the car then rinsing before it dries. You should see me when I have to tackle a hummer by myself. I am like Flash going around washing it, roof and all, before it dries. :passout:

That is really nice work Justin. :bigups

We've just recently taken on the Surf City line too. I tried that Carnauba and was impressed myself.

Detailing the engine is definitely risky especially on customer cars. I ruined a 500 dollar performance chip in my friends F250 recently because I got it wet. Wasn't really my fault though because it wasn't installed properly but I still had to eat the cost.

I use as little water as possible and I run the engine as I'm spraying it off. It dries faster that way.

A damp MF and a little dressing and spray wax would have yeilded the same results in the engine bay ...

Troy- I've tried a few Surf City products, not a bad offering at all...

Car came out looking sweet. I too wish I had that car. I'm with beemerboy on the engine as well. Great job nonetheless.
