Im At The Point Where I Need To Hire Some Part Time Help To Keep Up With My Customers. I Talked To A Guy Today That Is Looking For Some Work And I Think He Might Be Allright To Help Out A Little. He Has Owned A Small Shop In The Past But I Think He Did Not Know How To Run The Business Part Of It. I Have A Busy Day Tomorrow And Thought He Could Help Me Out And Was Wondering What I Should Pay This Guy For The Day? Should I Pay Him Per Car Or A Percentage Of All The Work That We Do?

If his only responsibilty is to help you than a percentage would be the best way to go. As long as you are able to get him to do quality work and not cut corners.

The main issue with paying percentage is they tend to not take the time to do it right.

The main issue with paying by the hour is they tend to drag a job out especially if you have a light day.

BTW, Is There A Reason Why All Your Words Are Capitalized?

Hey Troy Thanks For The Info Hopefully This Guy Will Work Out Because I Really Need Some Help. I Have The Only Mobile Service In The County And I Stay Pretty Busy And Could Add Some More Customers On. I Just Signed A Year Contract With The Hospital And They Are Always Calling Wanting Something Done. So I Need Some Good Help! Btw My Stupid Keyboard Is Stuck On Caps.

Well, thanks for 'fixing' it. I thought you had a rather unique style of posting...

I'd shy away from someone with 'years of experience'. they'll bring habits that will be hard to break.

I always pay hourly. Treat them fairly and develop loyalty... $10 to start?

Good Luck!

How can a keyboard be stuck on caps, capitalize only the first letter of each word?

Anyway, back on topic.
Keep in mind that hiring an employee involves more than just paying them. Withholding, social security and workmen's comp will most likely need to be addressed.

The Forum Will Remove All Caps Except The First Letter Of Each Word So It Isn't So Difficult To Read. Give It A Try.

Now That You Said It, I Have To Try It....
Lol...... Off Topic....lol

Edit..... wow....it does....lmao

As far as the help, hide a $5 bill under the seat and see if he pockets it or hands it to you...

That's a good idea, there are quite a few times I find money under the seat or in the center console and I always wonder if they are testing me. Nobody has ever admitted to testing me that way but I'm sure it's happened.

I did a friend's car and found a $50 dollar bill stuffed under the seat. He never said anything about it but I can't imagine losing track of 50 bucks in your car so I was almost sure he wanted to see how honest I was.

i found a very ,very thick bank bag in the passenger seat one time and i was so nervous about it.....i thought about locking it in the trunk:D
