If you plan on doing jobs like this then I would highly recommend getting a vapor steam cleaner. Using this machine, I would have probably been able to knock that entire job down to less than 3 hours. The vapor steamer does an awesome job on nasty seats like that and does it fast. I wouldn't say it replaces the extractor in this situation but it can do a lot of things that the extractor can't.

I have to agree :rockon but it actually took longer than six hours if you add in driving time ...that's about 7.5 hours plus gas and a lot of wear and tear on you and the extractor ...which is about $33 an hour :hmmm:

Amen to that...I just got mine the other day and did a car with a decent amount of smoke stained leather and vinyl/plastic parts and it made it new again. It's the best tool next to the PC that I have purchased.

I agree that it does not replace an extractor (which is my next purchase) but it makes quick work of stains, and I don't have to use as many chemicals anymore.
 
Great job! I had one like that in the past. A PT cruiser from a heavy smoker. Butts and ashes EVERYWHERE! I have no idea how/why they would throw the butts inside the vehicle. They were even in the door pockets. Ashtray was EMPTY! Figure that one out! Just getting the ashes and butts out was a task. Then when I sprayed APC, yellow/orange rivers of scum running down everywhere. I should have been in a biohazard suit!

Being still somewhat new at this (now full-time), I have learned 2 things:

1) Give a rough quote, but don't agree on a final price until you see the job up close. Glad you had the nerve to ask for more. I would have walked away for $100.

2) I always ask them to take everything out of the car, door pockets, under seats, etc. I really don't mind scooping up just trash, but I can't stand to collect all their change, clothes, blankets, receipts, etc from the interior. Something comes up missing, etc.

Great job, unfortunately the vehicle will be in that same condition in another 2 months. Nice turnaround on that nast interior !!!

They are not worthy of your service.
