Business License??

All of you private detailers, are you guys required to have a business license to detail? That has been on my mind for the past week. Any insights will be greatly appreciated.

I've got one. It allows me to do mobile detailing anywhere in the valley except for my house. My home isn't zoned to be a business, so I'm only allowed to have an office here. It costs me a whopping $35 bucks a year to have a license and it adds credibility to my business.

That sounds really good Jngrbrdman. So do you know if that is the true cost of one? I am thinking about starting a mobile detailer in my small town. But I still need to work out all the kinks. I will really have to make those phone calls to find out.

Also may want to check with each municipality that you plan on working in.

I had to have a license for each city/town that I planned on doing working in along with purchasing a county license.

:exactly:

$35 is what it costs in my town, but you have to remember that the entire Salt Lake valley probably has less than a million people. You just need to contact your city offices and ask them. Don't forget to register your business and set up the LLC and look into the insurance and all that stuff too. Running a business is more than just having the license. You need to make sure that all your ducks are in a row before you start off on something like that.
