6x12? diamond in the rough trailer

All About The Bling Bling
Got a call for a wash and wax on this trailer last week. Talked to guy into a full detail since it needed it. Worked on it for a few hours everyday this week inbetween my regular customers.

It was in rough shape. The paint was heavly oxidized and scuffed up. The stainless side panels look like they sat by a sprinkler(water etching) since it was new, And the fenders and front diomond plate were shot.

Process on the paint was to cut and polish with the rotary then a coat of paste. I wet sanded some of the metal and then polished it all out. The stainless was a pain, i got about 85% of the etching out. And last thing was some dressing on the tires. Most of the products i used were automagic.

Here's some before and afters of the trailer, and one of a dually i did a wash and wax on today. Sweet truck.

Nice work on the trailer :bigups.

That looks like one pretty sweet rig, what does the guy do? Must be real nice to have an AC unit to work in down there during the summer months, especially if you're mobile.

Nice job on the trailer. I see you use the same Dewalt buffer that I use. By far one of the best I have used yet, nice weight and lots of torque.

what did you use to clean the metal......really good job on the trailer, what did you charge to do the trailer

thanks, I wetsanded them first, started with 500 and worked up to 2500. Then with a wool pad on my rotary i polished it out with some mothers mag polish, the kind in the small jar. Used a drill and a small wheel for the areas inbetween the lights.

I charged $250 for the trailer.

I'm not to sure what he bought it for at first, but he now uses it to haul softball gear and vending snacks and drinks througout the southeast.

I agree, by far the best rotary out there for polishing. I've tried all kinds from cheap harbor frieght models to snap on. Its the only one i'll use now.

Great job on the trailer! I'm sure the owner was very pleased that you talked him into a full detail.

thats a reasonable price, that aluminum/stainless steel is a pain to clean and polish.......i did a box truck and all the side edges were aluminum and just that little bit took about a hour with two people ............ very impressive and shiny great job again

Stainless is a mofo to polish. I made my exhaust for my hotrod out of stainless. I gave up on polishing it and took it to a chrome shop. Looks like chrome now.

Very nice work..How long did you say it took on the trailer?

I didn't really keep track of exact time, i worked on it a few hours each day all last week. I'd say no more than 10.

Great job on the trailer! You definitely improved the value of it. :bigups

I used #000 fine steel wool (not skilled enough to use sandpaper) and Mothers Mag Polish on my daughter's truck wheels today because I was impressed with your results. They came out pretty nice, but not near like your trailer job.
