Finishkare BWM 164: Sealant Conditioner?

Good product, is a cleaner/wax product, removes light oxidation, leaves a polymer wax coating. In it`s day was a popular product for marine use. Lasts aprox 60/90 days.

I have used this product for Clients that want it, and it works great for their needs..
It is still a wax and has limited time on paint before it starts to go away...
Easy for me to apply and remove...
It has been around for awhile....

How long does it last?

Also, just curious why a client would specifically ask for this?

Is this FK product still being made and sold??
I didn`t see it on their current website under car care.

It seems like FK has "reduced" their car care product offerings from what they used to produce and sell. Just signs of the time from more market competition or maybe just fallout of certain products no longer in demand.

How long it lasts depends on how much exposure it has to weather outside, the kind of weather, etc.., how the Client takes care of it = washing, washing it with what, drying it, with what, etc...

Clients ask for it, probably, because they do no want to invest in a Coating...I have no problem with that...

Owner died, his daughter inherited, she sold he company to BJ of Allbright, he ran it for a while, then downsized, leaving Leta in charge, etc, the company now only produces a few products that have a long time following. The #164 has always seen it`s largest market to be "boat-marine". Which is why you are finding it labeled with the Big White brand. Not really a product for the paint systems of vehicles since the mid 90`s. Still an excellent product for gel coat-boats.

Well, you can order from their website, which IIRC you could never do back in the day, so that`s something. When I bought my FK stuff years ago, it came from Finish Care USA, which if I recall was a distributor, not the actual company.
