Your Thoughts on Today`s Vehicle Colors

I`m just waiting for it to be socially acceptable to break out my acid wash jeans again. My kids keep telling me it will never happen, but I`m still holding out hope! :D

Hey, if jeans with rips and tears are all the fashion, why NOT acid washed jeans!!!
I "despise" those jeans with the rips and tears and holes that I personally would just throw out. Probably because in my younger day wearing such clothing was a sign of being of an economic distressed (AKA poor) family and the stigma/image/social status it projected. Now it`s a fashion statement and if you wear new jeans that look brand-new without rips and tears, you are seen as snob or rubbing your economic status in people`s faces by similar age group peers. But is is OK to wear your UGG boots with them. Go figure.....

That Smoke Show gray is not my cup of tea. To each, his own. Some of the best colors I`ve seen were the old "Firemist" Cadillac colors.
Yes YES *YES* those and FireTHORN. Especially the green :D A family friend had an Eldo in that and teenaged me simply loved that paint.

I don`t know, IIRC GM would call the same color different things at different divisions; I remember getting a little can of touchup paint for some reason, for my Firethorn Red Metallic car, and it listed what the color was called at the other divisions. I think some of them called it the same thing, or maybe it was different years they called the same color something different...or something like that, down in the memory hole...I looked for the can I don`t think I have it anymore. I wonder if those little cans were how touchup paint came from the dealer before the little tubes and bottles with the brush in the lid.

Yeah, IIRC he did get a Firethorn Red one at some point, but I really dug the Green. I never looked into it, but I wonder whether the FireTHORN and FireMIST colors were the same...

I came THAT close to buying a 1971 Eldorado in that green. It had a white vinyl top and white leather interior.

Heh heh, yeah...that Green/White combo seemed pretty common back then. The Green Eldo I was around had a white (drop) top and interior too.

Your Thoughts on Today`s Vehicle Colors; Part 2

OK, I will add some additional observations and opinions on vehicle colors to this thread topic, rather than start a new one (Good choice, Captain Obvious!).
Is it me or is EVERY vehicle white, black, or some shade of grey or silver?!!!!! Sitting the parking lot of a Walgreen`s pharmacy on a busy city street (where EVERY Walgreen is located by) I observed the vehicles going by and what did I see?? It would seem EVERY vehicle regardless of make or type was either white, black, or some shade of grey or silver. It looked like I was watching a black-and-white movie! And the few (and I do mean FEW) vehicles that were colored stood out like a soar thumb. Yes, and this coming from someone who owns and drives a BLACK Ford Freestyle (hypocrisy admitted, although in my defense, that is the way the SUV came from my Mom`s estate when we bought it).
It`s just an observation, but I do miss the days of Ford Grabber Green and Mopar Plum Purple and GM Victory Red. Subaru`s "Sunshine" Orange, though, reminds me of a county utility/dump truck. Nor am I a fan of anything yellow, except maybe a Ferrari in Giallo Modena or Fly Yellow or Yellow Rose (color code matches be "darned").

Do you see this trend as well? What are your thoughts?

My friend had a similar color orange MIni but just got rid of it due to being sick of the color. I wouldn’t have minded it because it was a distinct car. In fact, I’ve never seen another orange one in person.

YEP. I think I posted I took the Rosso Corsa car to my nephew`s baseball game. There were maybe 200 cars in the lot, all silver, gray, black, white. And me sticking out like a sore thumb. Not an exaggeration.

Resurrecting my own thread and a joke from a Bazooka Bubble Gum wrapper cartoon:
What would you have if every vehicle in the United States were painted pink?
A pink "carnation"!
(1960's candy groaner, Captain Obvious!...
We can see you were blowing those BIG bubble gum bubbles by the pink residue around your mouth!!)

At some point I switched over from Bazooka to...Bubble Yum? Been a long, long time since I had any bubble gum...now you got me thinking...
