Hi everyone, a friend of mine has a Ryobi 1600 PSI / 1.2 GPM pressure washer. Can he effectively use a good quality foam cannon and get good thick foaming output with that setup? Or does it need higher GPM? Thanks everyone!!

I teied a few and with the low gpm i didnt like the cheapies (amazon specials). If he’s gonna do it tell him to spend the money and get the MTM pf22. Worth it with the low gpm. Make sure he gets the smaller orifice. I believe 1.1mm

I`ve got the Kranzle and a PF22 now and it blows away the Sunjoe and Torq cannon I had. Enough to matter NO not at all, the Kranzle is significantly more efficient but you can get more foam than you need with a cheaper pressure washer too. Can`t speak to other foam cannons than the Torq with it but if the foam is lacking, maybe a touch more soap should cure that.

At some point it`s just heavy foam on top of foam making it run off faster than than it should. Shaving cream thick is just a waste.

Ideally you want your GPM higher than 1.2, but with a good foam cannon and the smaller (1.1mm) orifice, you will get good foam. Will it be shaving cream thick?....no. Foam like that looks cool, but is not necessary and probably less efficient than a thinner foam. I have a SunJoe SPX3000, rated at 1.76 GPM (<----overstated).....have gotten really good foam from a PF22 equipped with the smaller orifice. MTM actually makes a good soap (Perfoamance), as does Jay Lenos Garage, and I really like P&S Pearl shampoo for it`s low price and good lubricity and cleaning power.
