Inexpensive Chinese Long Throw DA, Premium Parts....

You have my attention as well. I`ve been itching for a long throw, forced rotation polisher, but I just can`t stomach the $400+ for one. I`m just a weekend warrior with my own stuff. Sometimes a friends or family members car as well, so spending big money on a tool that I`m only going to use a hand full of times a year just doesn`t make sense. I`m hoping it holds up well. Keep us posted.

I’ve had a few cheaper polishers.

Non of them compare in any way to these Works of Art !

I don’t care how much these cost, worth every dollar !

Haven’t tried this but tried the maxshine who makes Griots boss polishers and a couple of other “inexpensive” polishers. Just pulling out of box and running a few minutes.... don’t compare one bit to Griots and the maxshine had cnc’d counterweight and NSK bearings. Love to give one of these a whirl to compare...

Ohhhh k. Got to work with it for a bit on my hood. Used with a Meguiar`s polishing pad and finishing polish. It was very smooth and quiet. Power was sufficient for me and what I wanted to accomplish. Switching between speeds was seamless and the trigger hold was holding nicely. Is it not on par with Rupes but definitely absolutely great for hobbyist or people that don`t want to put $300-$500 into a DA. It is definitely worth the price. I would call this the Kirkland brand of Costco if that makes sense.

Here`s a short vid.

Joe, thanks for reporting back. Do you feel like it`s got enough power to perform correction on a touch surface?

Tip: change the crappy bearing grease and it gets even better. Let`s not forget folks, this polisher is ONLY $89!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It`s got near the power of a Rupes 15 Mark II, if not the same.

Yeah, I believe it should. I didn`t feel any bog when bearing down on any speed. Note, I`m not a big guy so I didn`t put a lot of oomph behind it lol.

I would have not thought to change the grease, thanks!

I received my rotary. $89 including the shipping. Light ( weighs 5.3#), smooth, and quiet. I can only compare it to my seldom used Harbor Freight rotary. This machine is a massive improvement over HF. Great customer service and fast shipping (5days from China).

A tips is also to switch to a higher quality backing plate. The Cocraft 21mm longthrow polisher I got was around $100 retail price and got it on a sale. Is a company called Clas Ohlson own brand but of cause made for them in China. The ones on a domestic forum that got this broke the backing plate after only a few uses. So I was prepared and got a Shinemate Dust Devil 5" backing plate. This year I will switch the grease in it to a lithium based high temp grease. It can be a little hot when you polishing hard with it. As just polish and clean pad and reload and polish and switch pad. So not for a pro that polishing the whole day. Don`t know what bearings is in it. And don`t get to set on the make of the bearings. Just cause it`s NSK bearings don`t mean that it`s their highest quality ones or even NSK as there is well made copies of many stuff over there. For the user that starting out or use it on their own vehicals it`s a great option to see if it get used enough. I think I will upgrade soon and not that`s it not working. It`s cause I want the least vibrations and smoother running polisher. Cause of the physical disability I have is much worth it to me.

I just placed my order for S12 DA. Is there any break in procedure I should perform? I wonder why the expert on the other site says to go with 8mm throw. Washer mod?

Does anyone see any forced rotation DA like the 3401 on that website? They all look like free spinning DA and rotaries.

What was the final price at your door?

This looks damn nice, some thief stole my BOSS G15 last year, I wanted another but the price makes it a no go. Even if shipping ends up being $25 and thanks to Donald being Donald I get hit with some ridiculous Tatiff. This will still be way way cheaper than another Boss. So the consensus here is this is good for the price, but what`s a good upgrade backing plate I can get to go with it? And are they all red, or are some orangish? The pic someone posted here it`s red, but on the web site it looks a weird off orange/yellow color (which I kind of like lol)

I watched a YT video from a detailer who had maybe this same polisher (same price) and loved it. I know companies have to make money, but it`s a shame the mark up. @ $89 whoever makes this is turning some profit, there`s no reason the BOSS`s need to be in the area of $400, especially when they`re probably just a rebagged Chinese polisher which you can get for $125, or less shipped.

SNP, you are correct. It is not forced rotation, my error. It just takes a LOT more effort to stall the spinning motion. I just used it for the first time. (The day I got it I was running it in the house and could not stall the pad.)

It sounds identical to my Griot`s DA machine at high speed.
