04 C5 ZO6 gets revived and coated!

Had a new client come in. He was originally scheduled for end of March but I had a last minute cancellation so he wanted to get it done now. This 04 Z06 has 90k on the clock and was really showing its age. He had the front bumper painted by a mutual friend which helped a ton to freshen up the front end. Then I was tasked with getting the rest of the paint in shape and ready for the nicer weather.


Prep


The car was pretty clean upon arrive so a quick ww with AMMO Frothe got it ready


Wheels/Tires


Mckees foaming wheel cleaner gel, LATA, Hyper dressing


Engine bay


Cleaned with Ammo Frothe, dressed with Hyper dressing


Correction- Rupes 21 Mark ll, B/S URO wool, M100. Adams swirl killer mini and Rupes Ibrid was also used. I did a quick intermediate polishing step with 3D ONE and a B/S urotec yellow pad before doing my finishing polish. I was hoping to be able to skip right to a finishing polish but it was taking too long to refine down so a quick go over with 3D one was faster in the long run.


Finishing polish- Rupes 21 Mark ll, B/S Urotec yellow, Hyper polish. Adams swirl killer mini and Rupes Ibrid was also used.


LSP- IGL Poly 1 year coating.

Very nice work as usual. I know it’s difficult to bring 2004 paint back to life, especially black. Why did you choose IGL Poly over a longer lasting coating? I’ve often wondered why someone chooses a 1 year coating over a 2+ year one. After all the prep work I want the most durable coating I can find.

Thanks bud. Clients budget dictates everything. Trust me if I had it my way I would put my premium 4 year coating IGL Kenzo on everything. But not everyone is going to drop 1300+. He asked about my 3 year coating option but didn`t want to pay the extra 300$.

I tried but for whatever reason it left a little bit of haze. So hyper polish took care of it.
