And please don`t pass out, but I also took the S10 to the self serve and used the brush! But the paint is faded and it`s getting painted in the Summer anyways. As beat-up as it is I wanted to get all the mud (it seriously looked like I drove through a pasture) and greasy fingerprints off the fenders, hood, and door. I think I used $7 worth of quarters to get it clean.

In other news, I want to know how the company that provides uniforms at work wash their clothes! When I was first issued them, the pants would literally fall off, now I feel like popping putting them on now! I`ve even lost weight! I was all excited they were super comfy when I first got them.

Heheh, I know, I`m bad. It`s not too bad with the spotless rinse, and it really is. I`ve worked on their equipment before and the reclamation system is top notch as well!
 
Random thoughts? Well my mind is working on what to do on my Mini Copper Clubman, that Black roof might be a problem.

Mi Primo !!!
Is that the flat or matte black finish ???
If so, you are lucky since there is not much you can do to it, other than using products for matte finishes..

It`s a shiny Black paint ( BMW ) Roof and mirrors. Just looking at it with a Microfiber towel in hand and swirls come out of nowhere..............:passout:

Yep, but been a fan of smaller cars all my life. Had a Tacoma but had to get rid of it due to major problems the dealer couldn`t fix. Use the Lemon Law against Toyota.

I`m usually not a fan of roof wraps, but since this is a Mini I`d think maybe getting the roof wrapped with a checkered flag, Union Jack or US flag would look right at home, save your sanity, and maybe even keep the car a little cooler.

Oh, ok.. The pics I saw showed a flat black top, but of course, that could also be an option...

Well, if it`s their infamous BMW Jet Black, just clean it, coat it, and blow dry it as much as possible..

It is possible to keep it looking great and short of ppf, a good coating, washed carefully, blown dry, and only touched with the most vetted, softest towels with a great QD will go a long way...

I have always loved the MINI line !!! The JCW (John Cooper Works) versions were also very nice..

Ild Pirate- I somehow got away from reasonably small vehicles...starting to miss having something that`d clean up quicker. The Clubman, or even the Paceman (hey, I hauled German Shepherds in my CRX`s) would have it`s points.

I always loved the looks I used to get with a 90 lb lab/rhodesian ridgeback mix in the passenger seat of the Miata. :D

BudgetPlan1- Ah, I gather your power goes out frequently?

Ours is seldom out more than 12-18 hours and that only happens a few times/year now. It used to be out more frequently and for a lot longer (over a week one winter).
 
Oh God, I couldn’t imagine your power being out for a week during winter temps. The power here tends to go out in the spring and summer but never for terribly long unless of course we’re talking due to a hurricane.

Similar situation here. I frequently have to pick up our 160lb Great Dane at "doggie day care" and put her in my GTI. I`ve even had employees ask me where my car was when they only saw my humble hatchback sitting right in front of the door. If there are other owners there at the same time, everyone stops and watches until we leave. Of course around here everyone thinks you need a F250 long bed, crew cab truck or a Suburban to carry your one small child and a Chihuahua so a Great Dane in a VW hatchback is an impossible feat...

The lab/ridgeback mix was pretty tall so he was used to being one of the bigger regulars at the dog park until one day when someone brought an 8 month old Great Dane puppy that was already bigger than him. He was theoretically 7 when we got him and we had him for 6 years before he passed away, so he was a pretty mellow older guy at that point and wasn`t quite sure what to make of that giant ball of puppy energy. I can`t imagine trying to get that one in a hatchback. :)

Eh, we figure people got by for a long time before whole-house electricity and central heating. But yeah...seeing your breath in the house...it lasted about 10 days right on either side of Christmas that year. IF there were medical conditions requiring AC to consider, well that`d be different...but we do OK with the 19th century lifestyle.
